1961

1961: David L. Sullivan forms a market research and consulting firm in New York.

Jonathan Swift said: “Vision is the art of seeing things invisible.” Lore Frost & Dan Sullivan saw the invisible in 1961 over lunch, starting our 60-year journey.

1961 Seeking to bring together the brightest business minds in the world to track emerging trends, Frost & Sullivan was founded by Lore A. Frost and Daniel M. Sullivan in New York, NY

1962

Frost & Sullivan was the first company to offer its services on electronic tape media, delivering world military equipment market data in 1962.

1972

In 1972 Frost & Sullivan established a Corporate Training division, which offered training in management and leadership, sales and marketing, and information technology.

The company founded its Corporate Training division in 1972.

1980

The firm had annual revenues of $9.1 million for the year, up from $6.8 million in 1980.

1982

In 1982 serious discussions were held with a foreign investor interested in acquiring the company, which was by now publicly traded, but talks broke down when a price could not be agreed upon.

1987

In 1987 Frost & Sullivan's political risk analysis service was offered online for the first time via the Data-Star system.

The company's annual sales for 1987 were slightly less than $17.5 million, with net earnings of $290,000 reported.

1988

1988: Control of the company is acquired by Theodore Cross.

1997

1997: A stake in the company is bought by M.A.I.D.; a joint electronic data venture is formed.

2001

In 2001, Frost & Sullivan successfully launched the Economic Research & Analytics (ERA) service which is now called Emerging Market Innovation, which provides economic analysis and forecasting by industry rather than by country.

2013

In 2013 Frost & Sullivan made great progress in expanding its GIL brand around the planet.

2019

With 20 years of experience managing operations for consulting and financial companies, as well as founding startups, Darrell Huntsman was named CEO of Frost & Sullivan in 2019.

2020

Dave Gens was named Chief Financial Officer in 2020, providing global leadership, direction and management of the finance and accounting teams, as well as advising on long-term business strategy and financial planning.

He was named global Head of Research in 2020, responsible for strategically planning and managing overall research projects for all industry practice areas.
