Hardware

+ Five years of direct battery design development experience including mechanical design, fabrication processes, performance characterization

+ Familiarity with state of the art production processes, test equipment, test procedures of rechargeable lithium battery products

+ Experience in mathematical modeling of lithium ion battery designs and use cases.

+ Experienced in using Matlab for data analysis and presentation. Working knowledge in VBA, C/C++/Python is a plus.

+ Proficiency in use of engineering tools and standards: 3D solid modeling CAD, GD&T, tolerance analysis, FEA, FMEA

+ Strong analytical/problem solving skills and ability to use statistical tools and techniques to support proposed solutions.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to articulate technical issues and design trade-offs

+ Motivated, hands on self-starter with solid time management skills, and strong process and data driven approach to the engineering process, comfortable working in a dynamic environment

**Description**

- You will develop battery cell designs and mechanical dimension required to meet product application requirements and use-cases. - Act as technical contact point of cell design team interfacing with product development, battery modeling and technology development teams. - Gather product requirements and evaluating designs via mathematical modeling and electrochemical characterization. - Collaborate with cell modeling teams and battery engineering groups to verify accuracy of mathematical models and performance details to meet application requirements - Develop internal mathematical design tools to guide cell designs against performance requirements. - Build out technology specific modeling capability within cell design team.

**Education & Experience**

MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or related field.

We are looking for an
Aerodynamics Engineer, based in Torrance, CA
. The Aerodynamics Engineer is part of the commercial vehicle (CV) Aerodynamics team and linked to the Wheels and Aerodynamics (W&A) Center of Excellence (COE). This position requires a solid background in Aerodynamics and/or Mechanical engineering, either from work experience or from education. It also requires a high level of autonomy and problem-solving capability in order to define technical planning to resolve complex aerodynamic and mechanical problem statements.


Areas of Responsibility:

• Design, test and qualify the next generation of compressor aerodynamics for integration in the Commercial Vehicle (CV) portfolio, using state-of-the-art analytical (CFD/FEA) and experimental (Test Rigs) tools, and this is based on the development plan established with the CV Aerodynamics Manager.
• Close collaboration with the internal engineering customer teams to design robust compressor stages that will meet the performance, durability, packaging, noise and cost constraints, and be successfully integrated into customer turbocharger product.
• Support the resolution of technical problems and performance challenges by providing aerodynamics and mechanical engineering support to other internal teams (application and/or COEs).
• Collaborate with other team members of the W&A organization to increase innovation while deploying continuous improvement to the team tools and processes.

Qualifications / Experience / Attributes:

• Masters degree or higher in the field of Aerospace Engineering
• Minimum 5 years experience in compressor turbocharger design and optimization (design for performance, life, cost, noise).
• Machine learning experience (DNN, auto-optimization)
• Experience with High fidelity CFD compressor stage simulation (Ansys, Numeca)
• Proven Testing and analysis skills, including FEA and CFD analysis tools;
• Proven experience in 3D design packages (CATIA, Onshape, solidworks), programming (Matlab or python), and experimental turbomachinery testing (rig concepts, data analysis and post-processing)
• Expertise in Aerodynamics airborne noise analysis, including turbocharger noise measurement, method of assessment and experience with design for blade passage noise reduction
• Experience in aerodynamic reverse engineering methodology
• Strong drive to deliver, ability to multitask and to work in multi-cultural and cross-functional teams, with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Ability to grasp technical issues quickly and relate multiple observations to each other

We are seeking Scientist to be part of a team focused on genome and cellular engineering in the Genomic Medicine Unit. The successful candidate will play a key supporting role in building cellular genome editing technology as an approach for treatment of immunological, inflammatory and/or oncological diseases.
**Specifically, the remit of the candidate will be to** :

+ Lead the strategic implementation of novel RNA engineering to increase delivery and/or efficacy across cell and tissue types.

+ Lead the integration of mRNA-based gene editing technologies with lipid nano particles to support the development of next generation immune cell or tissue targeted therapies.

+ Transversally collaborate across the company to support RNA engineering and production needs.

+ Support and lead development of next-generation genome editing and gene therapy tools to strongly position Sanofi as a leader in _ex vivo_ gene therapy space

+ Responsible for applying scientific expertise and judgement to initiate, design and execute experiments in a time sensitive manner.

+ Acts as an impactful contributor of project teams and transverse initiatives.

+ Provides informal and/or formal mentoring to junior scientists in the team

+ Fosters creativity, productivity, execution with a sense of urgency, scientific integrity and accountability. Maintains a collaborative culture.

**Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor's Degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, genetics or related field plus minimum 6+ years of relevant research experience in an academic or biopharmaceutical setting OR Master's Degree in immunology, biology, chemistry, biochemistry, genetics or related field plus 3-5 years of relevant research experience in a biopharmaceutical setting OR PhD in immunology, biology, chemistry, biochemistry, genetics or related field. No Post doc experience required but preferred.

+ Prior experience working with and creating RNA molecules is required

+ Expertise in RNA chemistry, including but not limited to, implementing modified bases, 5' cap chemistry, poly-A tail and UTRs.

+ Proficient in the design and execution of in vitro transcription and associated purification

+ Ability to develop novel strategies to increase mechanistic action of RNA molecules.

+ involving genome editing applications is required

+ Genome editing and/or gene therapy experience with _ex vivo_ immune cell populations (such as T- and NK-cells) preferred

+ Experienced, results-oriented, with a track record of significant contribution to research projects and peer-reviewed publications

+ Demonstrated ability to independently design, execute, interpret and present experimental results.

+ Flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and deadlines in a dynamic, fast paced industry and work environment.

+ Experience in preparing high quality documents including technical reports, presentations, SOPs, experimental protocols and regulatory filings.

+ Excellent written and oral communication skills.
