Power Plant Operator Job Responsibilities:
As a Power Plant Operator, you will adhere to departmental/governmental safety standards in addition to departmental/organizational personal appearance policies. To help achieve our mission, you will chemically analyze boiler, chiller, cooling tower and all closed loop systems.
Your ability to operate and assist in maintaining/repairing all Power Plant equipment with minor supervision is of vital importance.
Monitoring other engineering systems and taking emergency actions when necessary
Responding to plant emergencies and demonstrating knowledge of locations of firefighting equipment, while performing safety checks on plant equipment, is expected.
Understands the importance of chemical balance in all systems.
Cleans and paints equipment, piping and associated accessories in Power Plant and mechanical rooms.
Performs chemical analysis tests and adds the correct amount of chemicals to keep a prescribed balance in boilers, cooling towers and closed loop systems.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Technical training in maintenance field.
Experience: 1 year of experience as an operating engineer or in a related field; Prior experience with operating boilers, generators and/or conducting mechanical maintenance.

The purpose of this position is to support the patient care environment by operating and maintaining the central heating and air-conditioning equipment for the Medical Center.

* Maintain flow of steam, heating system hot water, domestic system hot and cold water, and chilled water to the Medical Center by operating and maintaining the boilers, pumps, heat exchangers, centrifugal chillers, and related equipment in the Power Plant.
* Keep all systems free of scale, corrosion, and sludge by monitoring chemical levels and adjusting treatment according to our chemical program.

High school education or equivalent. Two years vocational training in operation of high pressure boilers, turbines, generators, electrical, and auxiliary equipment required or equivalent. Must hold a valid State of Minnesota Special Engineer License, 2nd Class A, 1st Class A or Chief A Engineers License and Prefer 3 years' operating experience in a high pressure boiler plant. Extensive experience in a high pressure water tube boiler, steam turbine, and chiller plant at pressures greater than 600psig. Background in water testing and chemical handling. Minimum of one year experience with "Windows" computer applications preferred. Must have a medical clearance to climb stairs, life up to 50 lbs., and qualify to wear a respirator. A valid driver's license is required. State of Minnesota - Special Engineer License, Second Class Grade A, First Class Grade A or Chief Grade A Engineers license. New hires that do not have an electrical license are required to have Registered Unlicensed Electrical License completed within the 90 day probationary period from start date. As our Power Plant Operator at St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood Colorado, you will help ensure a safe and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors by being responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing the equipment that provides power, heating, cooling, and ventilation to a hospital facility.
Every day you will operate power systems, provide routine maintenance and inspections, and conduct regular inspections. You will be expected to monitor and track energy usage, and follow safety protocols.
To be successful in this role, you must use your problem solving abilities to diagnose and fix mechanical failures, and your attention to detail to monitor complex systems and detect issues before they escalate. As a Power Plant Operator, you are essential to keeping the hospital operational 24/7.
Performs routine maintenance, lubrication, cleaning of boilers, chillers and all central plant equipment.
Maintains the mechanical equipment such as engines, compressors, generators, pumps and steam boilers during the respective shifts.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Chemical Operator is responsible for the set up and operation of production equipment in their assigned production area used to produce microencapsulated products in a safe and efficient manner. The role utilizes both automated and manual systems to add raw materials, initiate and monitor the process to transform the raw materials into finished product. Several actions require manual operator actions that include obtaining samples for testing, manual material additions, and documentation of critical process steps.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Area of Responsibilities
* Cleans and maintains department floors, sweep and mop floors three times per day and weekly deep cleaning with roto
* Ensure stock areas are clean, swept and mopped. Product with appropriate expiration dates and rotated using FIFO.
* Maintain trash, break down boxes and place in appropriate bins.
* Operates dish and or pot machine. Sort and place dishes and utensils on racks to air dry. Push racks with clean dishes to cook?s line and other proper storage areas. Fill plate warmers with clean plates for meal service and push back to patient area for meal service.
* Records dish machine cycle water temperatures, PSI readings, and PPM per department policy and manufacturer guidelines. Notify manager any time dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures.
* Adhere to daily nightly cleaning schedules for cleaning ceiling tiles, ice machine
* Adheres to job conduct, dress, attendance and in-service requirements.
* Change dishwater in dish machine every hour. Wash pots, pans and trays by hand using three compartment sink.
* Cleans cafeteria and kitchen stainless equipment.
* Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or management
* Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glass, flatware and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through dish machine.
* Don clean apron and gloves to assist and serve tray line for meal service.
