Pros of working at Norton Rose Fulbright
Lateral hired from an international market - training for new hires seemed robust. Out of law school its a good training ground.
Cons of working at Norton Rose Fulbright
As a Lateral - very poor.
1. One main ex-partner trainer - quite a strange woman, but not if you get her to like you - usually if you are right out of law school, and some other factors .. guess! If she does not like you - and she will decide within the first couple of times you speak - you are done - and she will not hesitate to ensure Partners and Mid-Levels all agree with her. Be Careful.
2. Partners very absent, clearly state they dont like working with associates unless they have 4-5 years experience at the Firm - you dont get a chance to have any meaningful interaction with Partners. Whatever take away they have of you will be from others.
3. Gatekeeping at another level.
4. Do not go to HR with anything - itwill go against you.
5. Too much decision-making power given to Mid-level associates - who decide on laterals as well.
Norton Rose Fulbright benefits
Eh.
What do you like best about Norton Rose Fulbright's CEO and the leadership team?
Honestly, I have no clue because I dont know them.
How would you improve Norton Rose Fulbright's culture?
Partners should be way more involved.
How did you prepare for the Norton Rose Fulbright interview?
prepared for 3 months spent on researching how to make a proffesional resume since I had not done that in 5 years - the normal research, value of transacation, why I am interested in particular area. Just be yourself honestly - that is how I went about it. If they cant appreciate you you dont want to be there either.
What I should have done was more research on the firm culture and I should have connected with firm alumni and asked about their experience at the particular office and the regional culture. First negative experience.
How does your compensation at Norton Rose Fulbright compare to the industry average?
Not really concerned with that - IDC
What's the diversity at Norton Rose Fulbright like?
Not as great as they make it seem - the higher up you go the less the diversity.
What brings you the most joy at Norton Rose Fulbright?
A positive work enviornment - collaborative culture
