SUMMARY

Completes all company and departmental paperwork accurately, including Price Change Bulletins, Operation Actions, Red Tags, and Bin Tags.
Receives, opens, and unpacks cartons or crates of merchandise, checking paperwork against items received when required, and replenishes stock when necessary.
Displays and maintains merchandise on end caps, shelves, counters or tables following company plan-o-gram, building displays when necessary to attract customers and promote sales within specified guidelines by your management team.
Maintains on-hand integrity through inventory adjustment reports including; cycle count, negative on-hand.
Follows the nightly maintenance checklist to ensure proper store recovery and cleanliness.
Maintains familiarity with new products and ad merchandise.
Has sound awareness of surroundings, customers, etc. and practices loss prevention techniques to minimize shoplifting losses.
Working knowledge of the tools available to operate the store; including, but not limited to: RF Gun, Back Office Procedures and the use of Store Opportunities.
Follows GLA policies and procedures for all transactions. Engages the customer to ensure they are receiving all the benefits of being an Ace Rewards member and actively seeking participation from them.
Must be able to communicate effectively, and work with colleagues and customers effectively and professionally.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists with color matching and mixing paint
Assists and/or makes recommendations to customers in the service areas within the store including, but not limited to; chain, rope, key, and glass cutting, screen repair, and knife sharpening.
Operates cash register by scanning all merchandise, engaging the customer through suggestive selling, proper tendering of each transaction, and thanking the customer for shopping at GLA.
Adhere to all company policies.
Participates in periodic team meetings.

Overview/Summary

Essential Functions:

Responsible for overseeing all activities during shift at the front desk of main entry.

Train and grow front desk team in all aspects of Administration performance.
Order needed cleaning supplies for front office and restroom facility on a weekly basis using Maintenance Supply Form. Fill out Purchase Order for office supplies when needed.
Maintain a clean and organized Front Office.
Assist with Community Service and Volunteers. Scan Community Service/Volunteer workers in and out. Process Mission ID cards.
Receives mail from mail carrier and has another team member present while pulling out donations, bundling them, dating top of each bundle and securing in lock box. Remainder mail can be sorted and placed in mailboxes then.
Receives monetary donations or new items that are donated at the front entrance window. Directs all other household donations to donation drop-off. Kitchen donations to Food Service Department.
Perform general clerical duties to include but not limited to photocopying, faxing, mailing and filing.
Maintain all Administration documents.

Ox-Bow as an artist-built community is dedicated to the preservation of time and space for arts education, research, practice, and community building for artists at all stages of their artistic journey.
The Retail Associate will assist customers at Ox-Bow House in Douglas, Michigan. The Associate assists with store operations, including helping customers with purchases and questions about Ox-Bow School of Art and Artists Residency. The Associate will help keep the store clean, organized, and aesthetically pleasing. The Associate will report when inventory and/or supplies are running low. The Associate provides excellent customer service, representing Ox-Bow in a positive light and playing an important role in the store's overall success. The Associate will be a strong communicator who is knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Ox-Bows programs and mission, and will be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. Essential Functions:

Cashiering:

Ox-Bow as an artist-built community is dedicated to the preservation of time and space for arts education, research, practice, and community building for artists at all stages of their artistic journey.
The Retail Associate will assist customers at Ox-Bow House in Douglas, Michigan. The Associate assists with store operations, including helping customers with purchases and questions about Ox-Bow School of Art and Artist's Residency. The Associate will help keep the store clean, organized, and aesthetically pleasing. The Associate will report when inventory and/or supplies are running low. The Associate provides excellent customer service, representing Ox-Bow in a positive light and playing an important role in the store's overall success. The Associate will be a strong communicator who is knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Ox-Bow's programs and mission, and will be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. The Associate works directly with the Retail & Program Manager, the Deputy Director, and other staff to ensure a cohesive working environment.
This position is 12 hours on average per week, but could be between 6-20 hours occasionally. The position will be set hours, ideally every Thursday and Saturday with the flexibility to cover other days as needed on occasion. Weekend availability is required. The position will be mainly report to Ox-Bow House in Douglas, but will require occasional support of events at our campus in Saugatuck.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Use Square POS system to ring up sales.
Clean and organize stock.
Clean and beautify the shop and surrounding outdoor areas.
Answer questions about merchandise and Ox-Bow in general.
Occasional support of retail and/or programming at Ox-Bow House as assigned by the Retail & Program Manager.
Other project and event-based support as determined by the Retail & Program Manager and Deputy Director; including but not limited to office, housekeeping, maintenance, and hospitality support.
