Essential Functions :
·Perform various cleaning, monitoring and securing operations to assist in the set-up of a vacuum atomization furnace.
·Work from verbal and written instructions to perform repetitive tasks before and after the and when required during the atomization process.
·Assist in preparing raw material charges, running the furnace control board, making minor repairs on the furnace, atomization chamber, and other auxiliary equipment, cleaning the atomization chamber, carry out housekeeping duties.
·Assist in the removal and replacement furnace lid and coils. Cleaning the interior of the furnace chamber and “O” ring seal.
·Clean raw material charge and transport to charge area. As directed assist in the attachment and detachment of gas, electric, and water lines to furnace lid and tank. Utilizing electric hoist remove and replace furnace lid from furnace chamber. Clean inside of crucibles, patch cracks and performs other repair tasks of crucible prior to next run.
·May be required to carry out tasks not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this position in support of department objectives and to develop one’s skills
·Adhere to ACE guidelines and perform ACE duties as required
·Adhere to all EH & S guidelines, including wearing of required personal protective equipment including a respirator & mask
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required :
·United States Citizenship required due to government contracts
·Must have High School diploma or equivalent
·Must have a good attendance record
·Must have strong communication skills
·Must be able to work overtime when required
·Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. independently
·Must be able to work from heights – up to 60’
·Must have strong mechanical aptitude

Vacuum processes such as hardening, annealing, tempering, aging, precipitation hardening, and stress relieving are also processes we perform to our customer’s requirements.
Summary: Process scheduled customer work through the furnace line.
Essential Duties and Requirements:
- Set up line according to Work Order and Standard furnace operational instructions
- Maintain all tank levels. (water and salt)
- Perform all necessary maintenance tasks before line start up.
- Removal of scrap from tanks.
- Perform scheduled maintenance on chute, muffle and pan.
- Maintain all required documentation including Furnace Log Book.
- Perform IN PROCESS inspections as specified by work order and/or QC alerts.
- Monitor parts for signs of distortion and/or foreign material.
- Operate all components of the line in a safe and efficient manner.
- Monitor equipment for correct operation. Notify Supervisor if out of parameter condition is observed.
- Handle parts to be processed in a manner precluding mixing and process and unprocessed parts.
- Keep “Catch Points” free of foreign material.
- Separate correct quantity of parts for QC final inspection.
- Repack and move processed parts to designated staging area, as required strap and wrap.
- Maintain clean and safe work area, clean up any and all oils spills promptly.
- Notify Supervisor of any unsafe conditions.

We are searching for an experienced Furnace Operator to expand furnace capacity, increase volume and grow business in furnace department on 2nd shift. This is a full-time position with some overtime.
Primary Responsibilities
- Control and monitor heat treat furnaces while following written instructions
- Prepare parts for processing; load and unload furnaces, fixtures, baskets, etc
- Ability to troubleshoot unexpected issues and/or notify supervisor
- Practice and promote safety and good housekeeping
Minimum Qualifications and Attributes:
- High School degree or equivalent
- Minimum of 5-year professional work experience and/or training preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience operating a vacuum furnace for heat treat preferred
- Knowledge of heat treating processes preferred
- May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends
- Forklift certification is a plus
Work Environment:
- Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers to grasp, manipulate, or feel
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch in an industrial environment where heat, fumes, noise
- Ability to see details at close range
