Physician Assistant With the supervision of a Physician, (as per O.R.C. 4730) the PA-C provides medical care, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions to patients with complex, acute, and chronic health conditions. Participates in quality monitoring through the review of records and treatment plans for patient outcomes on a bi-annual basis to assure quality care and per ORC requirements. This review is completed via the Focused Professional Performance Evaluation (FPPE) and Ongoing Professional Performance Evaluation (OPPE) for Advanced Practice Providers as part of Joint Commission requirements. This position will partner with the Inpatient Oncology Hospitalist in a team-based model, Monday-Friday and rotate weekend coverage. Would also support the Boise Saint Alphonsus Cancer Institute clinic based upon availability. In collaboration with the hospitalist or one of the other physicians covering the oncology service, the well-qualified candidate will provide high-level independent services to hospital oncology patients. Clinical responsibilities include rounding on all follow up patients on the oncology unit, providing initial review of the chart and communicating with the physician the information needed to develop a comprehensive consultation, and obtain informed consent for new patients, documentation and preparing discharge orders, chemotherapy education visits, perform bone marrow biopsies inpatient and in the outpatient clinic at SARMC as available, triage for oncology patients that come into the emergency department or direct admits from the outpatient Cancer Institute locations including managing the intake process.
