Johnson Service Group (JSG) is seeking a bilingual Mandarin speaking Sales Field Applications Engineer in the Seattle Washington area. This is a remote position. Based in Seattle, this role supports and drives thermal design-ins with hyperscale customers, primarily Microsoft and AWS, and their ODM/OEM partners. The position is highly technical, requiring strong Mechanical or Electrical Engineering expertise in thermal systems, airflow/pressure, and advanced cooling architectures. You will own customer-facing engineering engagement and guide programs from concept through mass production in close collaboration with Asia-based R&D and manufacturing teams. Mandarin/English bilingual capability is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Support and win thermal design-ins with Microsoft, AWS, and ODM/OEM partners.
Engage directly with customer engineering teams on-site to gather requirements and conduct design and validation discussions.
Translate thermal, mechanical, and electrical requirements into technical proposals, RFQs, and validation plans.
Drive programs from concept through EVT/DVT/PVT and mass production.
Coordinate daily with Asia-based engineering and manufacturing teams on builds, testing, and escalations.
Provide first-line technical support across air and liquid cooling solutions, including airflow, heat transfer, acoustics, and system integration.
Track technical issues, test results, shipments, and project status; maintain accurate CRM updates.
Monitor customer roadmaps and evolving cooling architectures; feed insights into product and roadmap planning.
Qualifications:
5+ years in FAE, sales engineering, or thermal/mechanical engineering roles supporting server or hyperscale hardware.
Strong ME or EE foundation with hands-on thermal systems experience.
Familiarity with hyperscale development cycles (RFI/RFQ, EVT/DVT/PVT, MP).
Seattle-based with regular onsite customer engagement and 25-40% travel.
Experience working with Microsoft, AWS, or their ODM partners preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering strongly preferred.

Position Overview
We currently have an opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Champaign, IL. The ME Team serves public sector clients with planning, design, and construction services for architectural (building systems) and municipal infrastructure projects (water & wastewater). Projects include the design of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection & security systems for public facilities including residence halls, offices, police & fire stations, and water & wastewater treatment plants.
Primary Responsibilities
Executes planning and design tasks including computations, analysis and modeling for facility rehabilitations and water/wastewater infrastructure projects.
Applies engineering principals, applicable standards (ASHRAE, NFP, Etc.) and building and industrial codes to develop and evaluate solutions.
Performs assessment and specification of mechanical equipment for public facilities, utilities and industrial applications.
Creates drawings, plan sheets and models following the company's design standards and utilizing the designated CAD or modeling software.
Assists with the preparation of technical reports, plans, specifications, and supporting documents.
Provides guidance to less experienced staff and assists with their development through project task assignments and regular feedback.
Performs QA/QC at various project/submittal stages.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
B.S. degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering (M emphasis) from an ABET accredited institution, EIT is desired.
4+ years of experience with assessment, design and layout of building mechanical and control systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection)
Experience with interpreting and developing complex architectural drawings and 3D models and performing calculations to support design decisions.
Experience with MS Office, Revit, Trane Load/Trace or Carrier/Hap are required, or similar modeling tools are required.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with other staff across offices and other disciplines to complete projects on-time and within budget.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to draft technical memos/reports and present recommendations in a logical manner.
A valid driver's license to visit project sites and attend meetings is required.

+ Experience with serving as firm/client liaison in a support or lead engineering role.
+ Experience with the design techniques, tools, and principals involved in the production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
+ Experience in electromagnetic transient studies, Mathcad, MATLAB, Aspen/CAPE, PSSE/PSLF and other applicable power systems tools.
+ Familiarity with design codes and standards, such as NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI.
+ Proficiency with MS Office applications.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Able to work in substation site environment on occasion.
