FROM THE HIRING MANAGER - for our Platform Engineering team what we're looking for are people who have experience building technology to be used by other development teams (not business users). Candidates who have just built lots of apps will not be viable for this role. Ideally someone with experience at software companies might be a better fit, since they are building software to be used by the development teams who buy their software. Building a few common modules for their dev team doesn't cut it; we need people who have built software that is used by 50-100+ developers.
THE POSITION
We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Lead Software Engineer position for our Platform Engineering team which is responsible for designing and building tools and workflows for our internal software engineering teams. These systems will allow them to build and deploy applications effortlessly, allowing them to focus on building business functionality for their users. Your work will directly support enterprise-wide initiatives, helping teams across the organization streamline operations, improve reliability, and accelerate delivery. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems and collaborating with other engineers to create high-impact internal platforms. The ideal candidate should have experience enabling IT organizations to work more efficiently, standardize best practices, and reduce friction across the development lifecycle. This includes creating reusable components, automation frameworks, and platform capabilities that empower our engineering teams.
KEYS TO THE POSITION
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering
- Proficient in Python with experience building tools using widely adopted libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Requests, BeautifulSoup, FastAPI, and SQLAlchemy.
- Skilled in packaging, testing, and deploying Python applications using tools like pytest, setuptools, Docker, and Git; familiarity with CI/CD workflows is a plus.
- Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and managing cloud-native applications using AWS services (e.g., EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudFormation), with a strong grasp of scalable and secure architecture principles.
- Proficiency in DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Jenkins), and container orchestration using ECS or EKS.
- Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and performance optimization tools (e.g., CloudWatch, X-Ray); AWS certification is a plus.
- Experience building and maintaining published libraries, frameworks, and services that support a wide range of teams/departments
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Attention to detail, self-discipline and passion to drive and innovate
- Must be comfortable with test-driven development, continuous integration, and agile development methodologies using tools like GIT, Artifactory, and Jenkins
- Experience working with offshore development teams is a plus
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, engineering, math, or related field, or equivalent experience is preferred

POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) is responsible for writing traceability matrices to link test cases to use cases. Provide first line support to customer on HTA's product line

Provide first line support to customer on Hitachi High-Tech America's (HTA's) product line
Develop manual (functional) testing processes to ensure defect-free software throughout entire lifecycle and execute automated test cases to perform regression testing on builds of Hitachi's hi Recipe (software application that distributes data across Hitachi's CD-SEMs), hi-Frame (a service-oriented software platform for the semiconductor domain that provides a single source of connectivity to CD-SEMs and their functions), and Result Viewer (statistical analysis application built on top of hi-Frame application for viewing and analyzing metrology data from CD-SEMs)
Write traceability matrices to link test cases to use cases, and execute functional tests based on each iteration of the traceability matrix by gathering and analyzing all primary requirements of hi Recipe, hi-Frame, and Result Viewer software, including Business Requirement Document (BRD), Functional Requirement Document (FSD), and Technical Requirement Document (TSD)
Identify and analyze causes for abnormal measurement values on CD-SEM software, test software for all upgrades, and ensure compatibility of new releases of software with new versions of test tools for functional, negative, regression, performance, load, and sanity test cases
Execute complete round of functional testing by reviewing all test documentation (test plan/test cases/test scenarios), conducting smoke testing to ensure stability of code for detailed testing, testing all modules of application (from highest priority to lowest priority test cases) using white box or black box methods, conduct system testing after individual modules have tested, and conducting regression testing to find additional bugs/defects introduced while fixing other bugs/defects
Write and execute integrated automated test cases using JUnit framework, catch bugs and prevent errors to improve quality software attributes of processes, write and execute automated Unit tests, API tests, GUI tests, functional tests, and regression tests, design test automation framework that supports automated testing for the long run, and develop an execution plan, including select which environments (OS, browser, and varied hardware configurations) the scripts will be executed in
Develop and document use case models to define step-by-step interactions between roles and systems to achieve a goal, and develop and document test cases to ensure that system performs as designed, while successfully meeting users' needs
Prepare training documentation for Field Engineers with information on skills, processes, and other information necessary to perform QA tasks, prepare technical communication documents (including instruction manuals) for system users to ensure product consistency and quality and to provide contingencies responses and problem solutions, and create customer presentations to demonstrate end client functional use of software
Review technical documents with design team, QA team, and Hitachi High-Tech Corporation in Japan, and run software builds against documents to validate information
Perform software product verification and certification for hi Recipe, hi Frame, Result Viewer, and CD-SEMs by preparing QA environment, servers, and tools for testing, writing manual and automated test cases to cover all possible scenarios, running all manual and automated test cases so that software is bug free, and creating and releasing test reports that include all the defining points of the software application from commencement of testing through certification to guarantee that a system or component complies with its specified requirements and is acceptable for operational use.

Perform testing activities by listening to mortgage customer service call center telephone communications and comparing documented system of record notes to the call
Identify whether calls constitute a complaints accordance with specified definitions
Identify whether there may be UDAAP/UDAP concerns

About This RoleAs part of Intersect's Microgrid Engineering team, you'll help design and deploy high-performance controls software that enables reliable, grid-interactive and off-grid microgrids at unprecedented scale. This role delivers robust, well-tested real-time control algorithms that support critical infrastructure, partnering closely with controls engineers, utilities, equipment suppliers, and operations teams. Your work will directly influence system safety, performance, and long-term maintainability across development, validation, and field deployment.

What You'll Do
Design and Implement Real-Time Control Algorithms• Design and implement algorithms for real-time control of microgrid components.• Collaborate with partner teams and equipment suppliers.• Translate system requirements and specifications into efficient, safe, and maintainable embedded controls code
Ensure Compliance and System Validation• Define and execute validation procedures to ensure controller compliance with utility interconnection agreements and ancillary market requirements when grid-connected.• Support controller verification through simulation, testing, and field validation.
Build and Maintain the Software Platform• Set up and maintain code repositories, build tools, and CI/CD workflows• Implement unit tests integration tests, and hardware abstraction layers to support scalable development
Support Quality, Documentation, and Field Performance• Contribute to clear documentation of software behavior, interfaces, and design assumptions.• Participate in code reviews to improve reliability, safety, and overall software quality.• Support debugging of unexpected controller behavior before and after deployment, including field data analysis and log review.
What You'll Bring• B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.• 3-6+ years of experience in real-time or embedded software development, industrial controls, or SCADA/automation environments.• Proficiency in industrial control and embedded languages such as C++, IEC 61131-3 Structured Text, SEL RTAC logic, CODESYS, Lua, Rust, or C.• Experience controlling generation assets and power equipment using industrial protocols such as Modbus or DNP3.• Familiarity with simulation tools such as Simulink or Modelica.• Experience with modern development practices including version control, automated testing, and validation pipelines.• A collaborative work style and the ability to translate cross-functional requirements into reliable real-time control software.• Attention to detail, strong documentation habits, and a mindset focused on safety and long-term system performance.Total RewardsAt Intersect, we care about your well-being, growth, and balance.
