Pros of working at Gabe's Construction

Work felt fulfilling for a while and the healthcare was amazing.

Cons of working at Gabe's Construction

Lack of appreciation, hypocritical policies, wage and raises are not negotiable in any way, PTO is not considered personal time off where they can depict whether or not your reason to use it is acceptable, no rewards or extra compensation for those doing more work or better work, & being treated as "family" only to find you'll mean nothing more than a replaceable passive income slave.

The leadership seemed personable, the open door policy felt welcoming.

How would you improve Gabe's Construction's culture?

Review and replace all hypocritical policies. Implement a requirement for job review deadlines to be every 3 months AND offer opportunities for growth or pay increase based on years with the company, going rates for position, and any accomplishments especially if they created processes that save the company money for every year moving forward. Create a hybrid HR sort of department that has a few flex employees to handle different priorities between departments for as needed help if tasks get overwhelming, but also add specialized tasks of reviewing or interviewing employees to check in so that they can be a 3rd party witness to support the employee's review with a report as well as keep management in check. Create incentive programs for each department. Have a creative clause to give HR or management the freedom to create specialized positions for individuals who fulfill specialized roles or multiple roles accomplishing tasks for numerous positions. Allow employees ideas that have been implemented to give them permanent raises or percentages of company savings so long as they are still employed, this would incentivize innovation.

I didn't, I stayed true to who I was since they already seen examples of the work I submitted along with my application and resume.
