About the Role The Civil CAD Technician assists engineers with drafting and design using AutoCAD and Civil 3D for site layouts, grading, and utility plans. The role supports commercial, residential, and public projects, requiring knowledge of civil engineering principles and permitting processes. Responsibilities: Understand project schedules and budgets and work efficiently within project guidelines. Possess a basic understanding of principles, practices of civil engineering, approval, and permitting process for civil projects. Experience with drafting boundary and topographic surveys, pipe networks, parcels, and subdivisions. Working knowledge/experience using Civil 3D and proficiency with MS Office Suite. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers drafting experience is a plus. Works in conjunction with an engineer on the preliminary design of the site, grading, water/wastewater layout, and storm sewer layout. Assists in the preparation of improvement plans, specifications, supporting documents, and permit applications for subdivisions, commercial developments, multifamily developments, and public works projects. Performs plan drafting using AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.
