A required part of the interview process for the position of Deputy Sheriff is a physical abilities test. The physical fitness assessment will consist of push-ups and sit-ups timed for 1 minute and a 1.5 mile run based on OPOTC age and gender standards.
Please keep in mind that successful completion of the physical abilities testing is required to be eligible for interview. However, passing the physical testing does not guarantee that one will receive an invitation to interview.

Incumbent is a Sworn and Certified Peace Officer. Incumbent performs a variety of duties and tasks related to the protection of life, limb and property. Incumbent reports to the Shift Sergeant and may function as Shift Sergeant in his or her absence.
Completion of a secondary education or equivalent plus certification from the Ohio Peace Officers Training Council. Must be able to properly administer first aid / CPR. Must have a valid Ohio driver's license and a clean criminal record.

Training: The DLA Police is dedicated to providing our military installations with the best possible quality of officer. We at DLA recognize that one of the most important ways to accomplish this task is through dedicated, consistent, and continual training. Our officers receive training through a variety of programs. The bulk of this training is conducted through the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA, and the Army Civilian Police Academy at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. Recruit officers begin training immediately while receiving full pay and benefits.
Mission Essential: This position has been designated as a Mission Essential position (e.g., snow emergency days, holidays, increased security periods, national emergency). The position cannot be vacated during war or national emergencies without seriously impairing the mission. Assignments may be performed at any job site within the organization.
Physical Demands: The work requires extended periods of physical exertion derived from such activities as running, walking, standing, bending or driving and occasionally lifting, pushing and/or carrying items weighing 50 pounds or more. Requires stamina, physical agility and dexterity and the strength to pursue, apprehend or detain. The incumbent may be required to push or drag heavy weights of 150 pounds or more. The incumbent is required to exemplify the physical characteristic of agility in the performance of his/her duties. DoD and DLA regulations require at a minimum an initial and annual physical fitness test. The individual will also undergo routine training in defensive tactics, active shooter/hostage response, handcuffing and firearms qualifications which require physical agility, dexterity and stamina.
Work Environment: The work is performed in an environment which involves exposure to regular and recurring discomforts such as extreme variations in weather conditions while directing traffic and performing walking patrols. The incumbent may be exposed to high levels of noise in certain industrial settings, destructive weather or higher Force Protection conditions. Monitor security cameras and other electronic surveillance systems.

The Cleared Armed Security Officer will perform testing and other inspection services related to access control, including routine inspections, and testing of alarms, locks, doors, monitoring systems, and other access control mechanisms.

Assist in promoting communication and awareness of data center security policies to client employees, vendors, contractors, and others.
The Cleared Armed Security Officer will maintain standards of Armed Security Officer competency, conduct, appearance, and integrity, including compliance with PGI and the Client's Code of Conduct and Uniform Policy
Execute and deliver various reports assigned by the Site Manager
Complete and maintain pre-assignment, client, State, and PGI sustainment training as directed.
Assist in collateral duties, including but not limited to armory and security equipment maintenance tasks.

Required Qualifications:
Must have a High School diploma or GED.
