Gaming cashier job description

Services team members in the EDR with food orders, recording free items and ringing up items with cost.
+ Ring up both Team member complimentary items & items of cost in the EDR.

+ Order stock for shift and putting stock away.

+ Clean all areas on the counter and behind counter.

+ Bus tables when needed.

+ Lift boxes of stock and crates of soda and water, when necessary.

+ Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Excellent verbal skills. Ability to tactfully and diplomatically deal with the staff. Must possess a high regard for guest service.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED required. Prior cashiering experience preferred with guest service skills.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency. Certified Food Handler Card required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must have the ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as order tickets, recipes, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Must be able to communicate effectively with coworkers and guests.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks within a fast-paced work environment. Must apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand and walk during an 8-hour shift. Team member is regularly required to reach with hands and arms and use hands to manipulate and feel.

The team member must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The team member must have the ability to hear and speak. Sense of vision must see up close, at a distance, in color and have depth perception. An acute sense of taste and smell is vital to success in this position

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This is a fast paced work environment and the position requires the ability to cope with it. The casino environment has moderate to loud noise levels and is a smoking environment.

WORKING HOURS:

Because we are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, most positions require flexibility in scheduling and may require Team Members be available for evenings, weekends, holidays and special events. A typical workweek and normal work schedules may vary based on business needs and may include scheduled shifts Monday through Sunday. Position may require overtime.

**The Opportunity**

Delaware North Gaming is hiring a part-time Gaming Cashier to join our Max's Sports Bar in Glendale, Arizona. As a Cashier, you will help create a great guest experience by accepting wagers from guests and cashing winning tickets. Good customer service is a pivotal element in the pari-mutuel wagering industry, and our patrons deserve the best in customer service.

**Pay rate: starts at $14.00 per hour.**

**Must be 21 years old or older.**

**This is a part Time position**

**Schedule / Shift: 1st, 2nd, varies, weekends to include holidays.**

• Sell and cash patron's wagers

• Monitor funds and comply with cash in drawer requirements

• Answer patron's questions

• Perform other duties as assigned

• Responsible for balancing cash drawer

• Works under direct guidance of supervisor when not working remotely at an Off-Track Wagering Site

• Several days of on the job training will be given free of charge

+ Previous cash machine/ customer service experience desirable

+ Must be able to obtain the appropriate state occupation license

+ Must be able to use both hands to operate pari-mutuel ticket equipment

+ Position holder may stand or be seated
