Entry Level Order Puller Ganahl Lumber is looking for a Yard Worker to join our team. This position works in the yard, processing orders by picking and filling material orders. He/she will send and accept shipments while keeping the yard clean and safe at all times.
The ideal candidate has experience working in an environment that can be cold and hot during different seasons. This person will need to be able to work safely and quickly, standing for long periods while fulfilling orders.
Responsibilities:
* Inventory - Pick and package products as ordered by the customer into their vehicles. Maintain inventory and assist with restocking products and supplies as needed. Report defective products as discovered and maintain thorough notes and paperwork. Review and process invoices as directed by leadership and keep excellent documentation on supply.
* Safety and housekeeping - Ensure a safe working environment by keeping an organized work station, alerting supervisors of any concerns, and completing continuing education for safety and hazards. Review any complaints and notify the shift leader of on-going shipping or receiving issues. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
* Prior experience working with inventory control systems is preferred
* Prior knowledge of lumber yards and processes preferred but we will train
* Experience operating certain power equipment is a plus
* Must be able to bend, stand reach, pull, lift and carry items in the yard

Verify weekend vault counts and randomly verify vault.
Office Operations
Provide assistance to the Assistant Manager-Operations in the completion of multiple office duties, including receiving, invoices, purchase orders, inventory adjustments, etc.
Audit
On an as needed basis, provide assistance to the Assistant Manager-Operations in the completion of the quarterly audit checklist.
On as needed basis, observe Cashiers for proper phone etiquette, greeting customers, handling returns correctly and that the customers are being treated attentively.
Front End Appearance and Upkeep
Keep the front end neat and clean at all times. Face and dust front end.
Keep impulse counters stocked and faced, rotate fresh merchandise in as seasons change.
Ensure fresh ads are stocked in shopping carts at all times.
Ensure forms and supplies are stocked at all times.
Assist with decorating the front end according to the Store Support Center program.
Call for cart pickups when necessary.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Leadership
Communicate any merchandising, cost control or sales idea to the General Manager for follow up.
Participate in store and Cashier meetings.
Assist with training and development of new cashiers.
Work with Assistant Manager-Operations to prepare for advancement
