Entry Level Order Puller Ganahl Lumber is looking for a Yard Worker to join our team. This position works in the yard, processing orders by picking and filling material orders. He/she will send and accept shipments while keeping the yard clean and safe at all times. The ideal candidate has experience working in an environment that can be cold and hot during different seasons. This person will need to be able to work safely and quickly, standing for long periods while fulfilling orders. Responsibilities: Inventory - Pick and package products as ordered by the customer into their vehicles. Maintain inventory and assist with restocking products and supplies as needed. Report defective products as discovered and maintain thorough notes and paperwork. Review and process invoices as directed by leadership and keep excellent documentation on supply. Safety and housekeeping - Ensure a safe working environment by keeping an organized work station, alerting supervisors of any concerns, and completing continuing education for safety and hazards. The primary responsibilities of the Receiver position are to ensure the efficient flow, tracking, and accuracy of all deliveries and transfers entering and exiting the store. Experience in retail or stocking is preferred, but not required. Hardware experience is a bonus. Review orders for completeness according to reporting procedures and forward incomplete orders for further processing. Recommend merchandise or services that will meet customer's needs. Inspect outgoing work for compliance with customers' specifications. Check inventory system to determine availability of requested merchandise. Notify appropriate departments when supplies are low, or when orders would deplete available supplies. File copies of orders received, or post orders on records as required. Maintain proficiency in all organizational safe working policies and practices. Maintains a safe and clean work environment. Performs other related duties as assigned. Adheres to company policies and work requirements. Required Skills/Abilities: The ability to read, write, understand, and relay, written and verbal instructions. The ability to operate various hand and power tools when needed. The ability to operate various types of material handling equipment including hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts when needed. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. 6 months of related experience preferred. Physical Requirements: This position requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, while working either indoors or outdoors. Must be in adequate physical condition to perform requirements such as mental, physical and manual dexterity, hand/grip strength, depth perception and any other physical attributes that enable the employee to perform the job safely according to all Company, Local, State, and Federal regulations and requirements. Ability to lift/carry up to 75 pounds regularly. Ability to push/pull up to 75 pounds regularly. Must wear prescribed personal protective equipment when handling material or operating equipment. Other Requirements: Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment and required drug screens as requested. Must be able to successfully pass a Physical Capacity Assessments as requested.
