Expertise is required in foundation design; retaining wall design; settlement; ground improvement; cut and fill slope design; evaluation of slope stability, geohazards and landslide remediation; general knowledge of heavy civil construction and specialty geotechnical construction practices, and development of recommendations for linear infrastructure projects. In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: * Plans and determines scope, resources, schedule, and budget requirements for major and/or complex projects * Independently designs and/or leads a Team to complete project scopes within budget and schedule requirements * Assists in leading major or multiple large projects with multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors and/or subconsultants * Independently applies and/or leads a Team with extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to evaluate, select, and apply techniques, procedures, and analyses * Performs construction support services, including assisting client with bid activities, performs construction observation, interacts and coordinates with contractors/inspectors/agencies, manages field changes, and closes out projects * Reviews completed project documents for conformity and quality assurance * Conducts business development to build a book of business. Generates leads, pursues new opportunities, and develops new markets/clients. * Works with multi-disciplinary teams for project pursuit and capture. * Builds and maintains client relationships, works to identify and understand client needs, and manages client expectations. Assists clients with risk evaluation and asset management. * Develops new techniques and/or improved processes * Assists in project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments * Represents the organization in communications and conferences pertaining to broad aspects of engineering assignments * Assigns tasks to and directs less-tenured staff and technicians * Assists senior management in implementing business programs, and may manage organizational programs under the direction of senior management What you will bring to our firm: * Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university. * 5 - 10 years of increasing responsibility and experience in geotechnical engineering. * PE or ability to obtain within first 6 months of hire. * Experience with common geotechnical software programs such as SLIDE, SLOPE/W, LPILE, APILE, GROUP, GRLWEAP, Settle3 and gINT. * Proficient in the review and preparation of reports, plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) * Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Office * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Strong analytical, organizational, and report writing skills. * Ability to work independently and within a team environment. * Excellent field observation and data collection/documentation skills. * Must be able to work outdoors in all seasons. * Must be capable of lifting 30 pounds and traversing steep slopes and rough terrain. * Must have valid Driver's License. Projects range in size and complexity from small to large, including both distribution and transmission type projects. The Pipeline Project Engineer acquires general knowledge of principles and practices of related fields and can function as a member or Lead of multidisciplinary teams. This is a hybrid work schedule! Consideration for an Engineer position requires the following certifications or experience: Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering 6-10 years relevant experience PE is Preferred.
