At Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania, students get the best of both worlds: specialized degrees and a truly well rounded education, both in and out of the classroom. At Gannon, students have the benefit of a variety of majors from which to choose. Human Resources, Theatre, Mortuary Science, Gerontology, Occupational Therapy, Software Engineering, Business Administration, Literature and Social Work are just a few on the list. Regardless of their major, all Gannon students go through the Core of Discovery or Lifecore programs, which provide a broad educational base in the humanities, arts and sciences. Since Gannon is a Catholic school, it also manages to nurture its students spiritually through campus ministry, Catholic mass and retreats. Many students at Gannon also engage in service activities both locally and abroad, and the university even sponsors a program for students interested in working on social issues. Academic, professional, cultural and special interest clubs are also available for students to cultivate themselves creatively, socially and intellectually. Admissions requirements include a high school diploma or GED and submission of a personal statement. Students may apply for financial aid to help with tuition costs.
