Manager of Store Design Leads the design process for retail environments, ensuring they align with brand identity and business goals delivering on the promise of Sephora's innovative retail experience. This position will manage both internal design teams and external consultants, overseeing projects from concept to completion. Coordinate closely with Real Estate, Retail Operations, Merchandising and Property Development, Execution, etc. throughout all stages of the design of our stores. Facilitate and direct team efforts to develop project scope of work including review of codes, tenant criteria, merchandise requirements and any other design elements that may need to be incorporated into a project Oversee quality control with the team and our 3 rd party Architect companies to ensure all drawings meet Sephora design standards and criteria. Coordinate with consultant architects and engineers to incorporate any changes or corrections into the final contract documents. Ensure that drawings are accurate throughout the project Expertise in design implementation, CD development, schedules, permitting, and interaction with LL or building officials. Be able to expertly and persuasively communicate Sephora brand Point of view to external partners. Provide input and feedback to team developing store design tools: Template, design guidelines, ideal plans, high level gut checks, feasibilities, etc. Contribute industry insights and fresh perspective to continually improve upon the delivery of on brand, beautiful, functional and cost-effective stores. Expertly and independently be able to navigate and manage high profile and complex projects, including special projects such as time studies, template/prototype standards Lead initiatives with cross-functional teams and external partners. What it takes to Join: • Minimum 2 yr AA Degree preferred in Design/Fashion Merchandising, or equivalent experience. • Adobe Illustrator, Micrografx and Photoshop skills. • PDM training preferred. • Timely sense of trends and market direction encompassing color, fabric and silhouette. • Working knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, textiles and current finishing techniques and processes. • 0-3 years design experience, which includes fabric sourcing, technical design, trim development and color training with practical experience. • Computer PC, MAC and CAD experience. • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
