WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Director, Policy & Government Affairs - Justice Division will report to the National Director of Policy & Government Affairs.
YOUR DAY TO DAY
Lead and manage a team charged with charting the course for the ACLU's federal policy agenda on criminal legal reform, and other civil rights and civil liberties issues
Lead the Division in the development of novel goals, strategy, and vision, and the strategic plans necessary to advance key policy priorities and civil rights and civil liberties
Identify areas of work that should be prioritized by the Division, developing an annual slate of policy priorities that drive the core work within the Division
Provide strategic advice and counsel to the National Director of Policy & Government Affairs as well as other department leadership in areas of substantive expertise and in efforts to lead the Division's work on policy engagements, lobbying strategy, and shaping policy agendas
Develop the strategy for and direct the policy and lobbying efforts in specific issue areas and civil liberties and civil rights at the federal level and support similar efforts at the state and local levels
Identify funding opportunities and maintaining relationships with funders
Manage Justice Division budget and grantmaking process.
Participate in the leadership team of the Policy & Government Relations vertical to ensure effective relationship management, coordination on Capitol Hill, and on effective legislative strategies across policy divisions; coordinate regularly with other Directors of Policy & Government Affairs to ensure alignment
Work in partnership with National and State Campaigns leadership to achieve legislative and administrative victories that advance civil liberties and civil rights in specific issue areas, while building the ACLU's power
Work collaboratively with Legal Department staff on policy advocacy directed towards Congress or the Executive Branch to align their efforts with federal policy counsel in the Division, as well as collaborate with Legal Department staff in providing advice to affiliates on state and local policy
Serve as a principal policy, legal, and/or subject matter expert and advocate; represent the Division and department in meetings of ad hoc lobbying and policy and/or political coalitions as well as interdepartmentally
Direct the Division's work on the development and execution of accurate and persuasive written explanations of the ACLU's position on proposed federal or state policy
Manage and cultivate relationships with policymakers in Congress and the Executive branch; testify as an expert at legislative hearings and agency meetings; identify and prepare expert witnesses and testimony when necessary
Lobby elected officials, their staff, and other public officials to support ACLU positions on pending legislation and policy initiatives
Provide strategic guidance on lobbying efforts and testimony to be delivered by ACLU state affiliates before legislative or regulatory bodies at the state and local/municipal levels, in collaboration with affiliate leadership
In collaboration with ACLU Communications staff and other key stakeholders, provide expert commentary to media, participate in media briefings, and draft and contribute to op-eds and other publications
Serve as a spokesperson for the ACLU on substantive areas of expertise
Engage in fundraising and donor cultivation
Develop staff capacity to work together collaboratively and grow issue expertise and policy and lobbying skills; lead trainings and provide mentorship and guidance
Lead efforts to recruit staff, and further strengthen the division and department
May provide subject matter expertise, advice, and support to fellow colleagues in other Divisions as they develop and execute state/local campaigns in new and unfamiliar issue areas

COMPENSATION
The ACLU is committed to equity, transparency, and clarity in pay. Consistent with our compensation philosophy, there is a set salary for each role based on geographic work location. The annual salary for this position is $220,285. (Level - C2), reflecting the salary of a position based in New York, NY. Salaries are subject to a regional pay adjustment if authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.

This role will be responsible for developing the strategy, building out capabilities, and leading a team of security professionals to proactively detect, triage, and respond to cyber threats.
This position provides technical direction and administrative oversight on all cybersecurity matters, ensuring the protection of the client's systems, networks, and data. The Manager supports a strong first line ownership model by partnering with technology and business stakeholders to embed security into planning, development, and operational activities.
Responsibilities
Working closely with client stakeholder, build, manage, and scale a Cyber Threat Intelligence Team from the ground up.
Lead on Developing Standard Operating Procedures for threat intelligence activities, taking into account specific client activities and stakeholders, such as tooling, reporting lines, and out of hours incidents.
Lead on managing most severe and critical cyber security incidents including supporting incident responders with reporting, updates and investigations to aid incident response and crisis management in a timely, accurate and professional manner.
Train, and mentor threat intelligence analysts, engineers, and threat hunters.
Establish operational processes, escalation paths, and playbooks.
Oversee the triage of cyber events, ensuring rapid identification, investigation, and remediation.
Manage incident response activities, coordinating across IT, Legal, Risk, and other stakeholders.
Develop metrics, KPIs, and reporting to measure SOC effectiveness.
Lead proactive threat hunting operations to identify potential compromises and undetected malicious activity.
Integrate threat intelligence into SOC workflows and leverage intelligence to inform response and prevention strategies.
Evaluate and optimize the client's technology stack (SIEM, SOAR, EDR, threat intelligence platforms, etc.).
Drive continuous improvement of detection rules, automation, and response capabilities.
Recommend emerging tools and processes to enhance maturity.
Conduct regular check-ins, provide coaching and feedback, manage performance reviews and improvement plans, and support career development with the members of your team.
Serve as the main liaison between team members and ECS program management team, ensuring timely program and personnel updates and controlling quality on client deliverables.
With the support of the Talent Acquisition team, participate in hiring processes ensuring team resourcing aligns with client expectations and program needs.
Lead onboarding tasks (e.g., joiner tickets, scheduling, equipment, success plans), manage offboarding logistics and leaver tickets, and ensure operational continuity.
Manage team schedules, approve PTO, ensure timesheet compliance, and maintain a consistent high-quality service to the client.
Working closely with the ECS program management team, align on overall program strategy and priorities to create clear, actionable, team deliverables.
Qualifications
10-12 years of experience in cybersecurity, cyber threat intelligence, or cyber security operations.
Leadership in a threat intelligence environment a plus.
Ability to distil highly technical information into more business centric, risk orientated language for presentation to senior leadership.
Experience with: Splunk (or other event monitoring capability), Crowdstrike, RecordedFuture, MS sentinel, SentinelOne, OpenCTI, MISP, Proofpoint.
Deep knowledge of incident response, digital forensics, malware analysis, and threat intelligence.
Hands‑on experience with SOC technologies such as SIEM, SOAR, EDR, IDS/IPS, and log management tools.
Strong understanding of MITRE ATT&CK framework, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and industry best practices.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Relevant certifications preferred: CISSP, CISM, GIAC (GSOM and GCTI), or equivalent.

As A.Team's first AI Delivery Lead/ Architect, you'll own the full delivery lifecycle of complex, multi-workstream AI programs while contributing production-grade code to A.Team's AI Solutions Platform. Your mission is to design the delivery framework that scales our consulting model while maintaining your identity as an elite hands-on engineer.
Anticipated salary band: $165,000 USD - $250,000 USD, commensurate with experience.
Role Overview:
Architect and deploy cutting-edge AI solutions tailored to multiple verticals.
Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering strong collaboration, accountability, and growth
Drive accountability of milestones and project execution, ensuring alignment with internal and external roadmaps
Establish quality gates-code review, automated tests, model-card compliance
Ability to drive cross-functional conversation and work seamlessly across departments to deliver against both internal and external timelines to align business and delivery outcomes
Establish the playbook for A.Team's AI delivery for client projects - scope, plan, and run 3-6 concurrent projects (LLM apps, MLOps, RAG, agent orchestration)
Orchestrate reusability across multiple missions
Embed A.Team engineering into deployed missions to gather industry/vertical-specific domain knowledge
About You
Former Senior Software Engineer, Solutions Architect, or equivalent, with demonstrated success in designing and implementing complex AI solutions
Extensive experience in AI development, including successful implementations in analytics, machine learning models, and cloud architectures, including end-to-end delivery in enterprise or regulated settings.
Proven comfort and effectiveness in client-facing roles, including conducting presentations, facilitating discovery sessions, and engaging in technical discussions at the executive level
Strong Leadership skills with experience in both managing and mentoring engineering talent across time zones
Consultative, client-facing ability to translate business problems into technical solutions - success in this role requires engaging with enterprise stakeholders, defining success metrics, and leading iterative delivery in sprints. It's not just about building models, but about co-designing AI systems that fit workflows and earn adoption
Entrepreneurial mindset, driven by mission-focused initiatives and passionate about delivering technology that creates measurable business impact
Project management capability to drive accountability across engineering teams to deliver against deadlines and milestones
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field (Master's degree preferred)

About the Role

Glacier Bay Lodge is a small 50-room lodge nestled in between coastal mountains, incredible fjords, and Alaska's Inside Passage and is a remote wilderness experience you don't want to miss. The only way to travel to us is by air or sea from Juneau to the friendly little town of Gustavus, your Gateway to Glacier Bay National Park & Preserve.

Job Responsibilities
Vessel Navigation & Operation
Operate the tour vessel safely and professionally in accordance with USCG regulations, marine laws, environmental guidelines, and company standards.
Navigate Glacier Bay's waters, including narrow channels, tidewater glacier areas, and wildlife-dense zones, using sound judgment and situational awareness.
Monitor weather, tides, wildlife activity, and sea conditions to adjust routes or timing as needed.
Maintain radio communications with NPS, dispatch, marine operations, and support vessels.
Safety Leadership
Serve as the top authority on board for all safety decisions and emergency procedures.
Conduct pre-departure safety briefings, crew drills, and safety equipment checks.
Respond effectively to emergencies, including medical situations, mechanical issues, or wildlife proximity concerns.
Enforce all safety rules for passengers and crew, including wildlife-viewing regulations and deck safety guidelines.
Crew Supervision & Coordination
Lead and mentor the vessel crew including deckhands, naturalists, and galley support.
Assign duties and oversee performance to ensure high-quality guest service and operational efficiency.
Facilitate training in safety procedures, customer interaction, cleaning responsibilities, and onboard service support.
Foster a professional, supportive, and teamwork-oriented onboard environment.
Guest Engagement & Experience
Represent the company and Glacier Bay National Park with professionalism and courtesy.
Provide welcome announcements, route updates, point-out wildlife or geographic features when appropriate, and coordinate with the onboard ranger or naturalist.
Ensure guests feel safe, informed, and cared for throughout the voyage.
Help maintain a positive, respectful, and enjoyable atmosphere onboard.
Ensure crew conduct all food-service tasks-such as meal distribution, galley sanitation, and waste management-in compliance with health standards.
Confirm that all crew members obtain and maintain a valid Alaska Food Worker (Food Handlers) Card and follow approved food safety practices.
Environmental Compliance
Follow all NPS requirements for wildlife distances, speed limits, approach regulations, and permitted routes.
Operate the vessel in compliance with Glacier Bay's Environmental Management Plan and environmental best practices.
Model respectful stewardship of park resources, ensuring operations have minimal environmental impact.
Vessel Maintenance & Administration
Oversee the vessel's daily operational readiness, including logs, checklists, safety equipment, and mechanical checks.
Report mechanical issues or maintenance needs promptly.
Maintain accurate voyage logs, passenger counts, fuel records, incident reports, and required documentation.
Support seasonal startup and shutdown operations, including equipment checks and regulatory inspections.
Oversee all vessel fueling operations to ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental protection rules, and spill-prevention protocols.
Verify accurate and complete fuel logs and ensure crew are trained and compliant with fueling procedures.

Qualifications
U.S. Coast Guard Master's License appropriate for 50-ton vessel with Passenger Endorsement.
Radar endorsement, FCC Marine Radio Operator Permit, and all required USCG credentials.
Prior experience operating passenger vessels in similar marine environments; Alaska or remote operations experience strongly preferred.
Strong leadership, communication, and situational awareness skills.
Excellent judgment and ability to remain calm under pressure.
Knowledge of maritime safety, emergency procedures, and wildlife-viewing regulations.
Ability to supervise a diverse crew and deliver exceptional guest service.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods while navigating the vessel.
