Through various analysis and studies, helps to develop a price list for per-piece part packaging labor. Collaborates with Regional Distribution Center (RDC) Managers, Packaging Engineering Manager, Sr. Parts Packaging Specialist, and Director of Parts Distribution, ensuring prudent execution of a multi-million-dollar budget for packaging, labor and shipping expenses. Other duties include collaboration with design and approval of packaging specifications, reviewing of damage and defect claims data and continuous improvement projects.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
* Develops and conducts time and motion studies to establish standard production rates for packaging of service parts and other individual packaging assembly line roles and functions.
* Utilizes data to ensure efficient staffing for each packaging job, and assigns tasks to balance the workload among the packaging line operators to achieve the highest efficiency rate per individual part type commodities.
* Audits invoices by material and labor suppliers for validity against established pricing, contracts, and business rules and agreements.
* Resolves and negotiates billing discrepancies with suppliers. If not able to get a resolution, escalates disputed invoices to management or as directed to respective internal department that would best resolve the issue.
* Assists and makes recommendations to the Packaging Engineering Manager regarding package design and testing.
* Completes and analyzes cost reports obtained through independent process improvements.
* Approves in conjunction with Subaru of America's (SOA's) Packaging Team, packaging specifications from parts suppliers and third-party packager, based on collaborate studies and tests done with third-party Packaging Team.
* Builds and maintains a dashboard that tracks and displays damage and defect trends in the field
* Analyzes parts with increased rate of damage/defect for root cause and supports the design and implementation of packaging improvements.
* Notifies suppliers of inconsistencies and collaborates to obtain resolution

Set up and operate tube bending machines such as CNC and hydraulic tube benders.
Adjust machine settings to achieve desired angles, radii, and tolerances in tube bending operations.
Change tooling as required and ensure it is properly installed and aligned.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine the appropriate machine settings and dimensions for the tubing.

The Cycle Counter is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy through daily cycle counts and inventory audits at an automotive manufacturing facility. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy of materials used in a production environment by identifying discrepancies and contributing to corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform scheduled cycle counts of materials in plant and off-site warehouses.
Investigate inventory variances and reconcile discrepancies using ERP/MRP systems.
Audit material locations on the production floor, warehouse, and quarantine areas.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records to support production planning and delivery schedules.
Collaborate with Material Handlers, Shipping & Receiving, Production Control, and Quality teams to resolve inventory issues.
Maintain relationships and communicate with all relevant associates and management.
Support Production Control activities related to Engineering Changes, including inventory counting, quarantine and FIFO material, obsolete material disposition, and control of production break points.
Escalate inventory issues that may impact production schedules or customer shipments to management.
Assist in physical inventories and support preparation and execution of annual or quarterly full counts.
Support activities with new model production ramp-up as well as end of life production ramp-down.
Operate forklifts or other material handling equipment as needed (must be licensed or willing to certify).
Other duties as assigned to support Production Control.
Education:
High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
Forklift certification preferred.
Preferred Experience:
1-3 years of inventory control or cycle counting experience in a manufacturing environment (automotive preferred).
Familiarity with automotive supply chain practices such as Kanban, FIFO, and EDI.
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems; experience with barcode/RFID scanning tools a plus.
Basic math skills and strong attention to detail.
Great written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and follow standard work procedures with minimal supervision.
