About the Job Supervises and provides direct leadership for technicians. Manages work flow and assigns tasks. The Diesel Shop Supervisor will support the North Huntingdon Hauling site and have oversite of roughly 8 Technicians and a Fleet size of 90 vehicles. Shift is a rotating Monday - Friday shift. Candidate will work 2weeks on 1st shift beginning at 6:00am and then rotate for 2 weeks on 2nd shift beginning at 1:00pm. What You'll be Doing Oversees the day-to-day operations of employees in the maintenance shop. Coordinates and supervises all maintenance work and repairs, and monitors progress and quality. Reviews driver repairs and other maintenance requests and prepares work order documents. Performs mechanical duties as needed. Monitors inventory of replacement parts and restocks as needed. Oversees personnel including coaching, training, evaluating employee performance, and conducting disciplinary action as needed. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions. II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Ensures safe and reliable vehicles are available to meet operational requirements. Conducts fleet evaluations to ensure maintenance standards are met. Manages maintenance managers to ensure performance and cost focus across the area. Reviews capital equipment requisitions in line with Corporate guidelines and objectives. Manages effective utilization of vehicle assets. Ensures maintenance shops are adequately staffed and mechanics are properly trained. Ensures vehicle management systems are effectively utilized. Complies with and ensures adherence to WM's Mission to Zero standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations. Meets all financial review dates and corporate directed programs in a timely fashion. Assists in budget process as required. Assists in creating a positive team-oriented environment through employee development and motivation. Ensures the cleanliness and maintenance of the maintenance shops through regular inspections and preventive maintenance programs. Oversees personnel needs of the department including selecting, coaching, and training staff and maintenance managers, and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions. Motivates, coaches, counsels and disciplines managers according to WM's policies and procedures and ensures that maintenance managers are in compliance with the standards in their administration of counseling and disciplinary steps. Provides training and presentations as needed in a positive and professional manner. III. Qualifications A. The Alarm Service Technician is a hands-on role. You will play an integral role in building and maintaining customer relationships. This role entails visiting customer sites throughout the workday installing, servicing, and inspecting low-voltage electronic security equipment. Key Responsibilities: Experience with Alarm panels such as: 2GIG, Qolsys, Ademco, GE, DSC, DMP, and others. Ability to troubleshoot technical problems. Replace system components as assigned; panels, peripheral devices, audible/visual alarms, etc. Driving to customer homes to perform service. Occasional lifting, carrying (up to 30 pounds), pushing and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; frequent stops, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling. Diagnose causes of problems or failures in systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and systems repair. Customer education and training including a system demonstration. Conduct a thorough walkthrough / site evaluation with the customer to review work order to make sure the system meets their needs and expectations. Install and test the operations of all equipment to ensure proper functionality and signal verification required to establish service. Identify opportunities to improve the use and functionality of the customers system and provide those recommendations. Maintain safety practices to prevent against injury and damage to property. Maintain a clean and organized workspace / job site, ensuring customers satisfaction after the interaction. Requirements: H.S. Diploma or GED Good driving record and Valid driver's license. Excellent customer service skills. Working knowledge of how an alarm system operates. Must be ok with climbing ladders and working at heights. Must be ok working in tight spaces such as crawlspaces, attics and basements. POSITION SUMMARY INFORMATION: DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS The Shelter Support Staff provides administrative, logistical, and other support for the Shelter Site. Shelter Support Staff offers support to the residents of a shelter by helping them work towards their case plan goals and motivating residents to maintain their active daily living routine. A general summary of responsibilities includes providing a safe, clean environment, supporting, and assisting residents residing in the shelter and documenting any safety/security concerns. Duties/Responsibilities: Receive and orient new resident arrivals and provide them with a welcome brief. Maintains oversight of shelter residents and their living quarters. Ability to provide resource information for residents and their families. Support and assist residents with their shelter needs as they arise (ex. questions, concerns, hygiene supplies, cleaning supplies, bedding, food and more). Maintain positive, supportive, and respectful resident relations. Follow and enforce shelter guidelines, policies, and procedures. Work cooperatively and effectively with other staff members. Perform other duties as assigned by the Administrative Management Liaison. Responsible for records keeping, resource coordination, scheduling, and ensuring compliance with government regulations. Attend meetings, compile, and submit required reports, and other tasks as assigned. Interface with the Customer, Military, and other Federal and Government agencies. Assist HR with personnel issues as needed. Assists the Admin Manager with daily administrative and logistical taskings. Assists with other duties as assigned. Required Education, Certifications, Licenses, and Experience: Previous experience working in a shelter environment is preferred. Strong organizational and communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to be compassionate and firm towards shelter residents. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with residents and other staff members. Ability to use sound judgement and perform job duties with minimal supervision. Ability to navigate Microsoft Office products, specifically, Outlook email, Word and Excel. Excellent attention to detail to procedures, processes, and policies. Must be able to work a 12-hour shift during the week including weekends, holidays, and overnights. Work Environment: Employees may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
