Under general supervision, this position is responsible for ensuring the safety of patrons visiting Garden Rapids at the Big Pool which includes enforcing pool rules and regulations, monitoring swimming activities, responding to emergencies, providing first aid and water rescues as needed, and assisting with maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming aquatic environment. * Continuously monitors pool and surrounding areas to ensure the safety of all patrons. * Enforces pool rules, policies, and safety regulations in a consistent and courteous manner. * Responds promptly and effectively to emergency situations, including water rescues and first aid incidents. * Administers first aid and CPR/AED in accordance with training and certification standards. * Maintains constant vigilance and appropriate positioning while on lifeguard duty. * Assists with opening, closing, and securing the pool facility. * Performs routine pool maintenance duties, including checking safety equipment and maintaining cleanliness. * Provides customer service by answering questions and offering general information to patrons. * Works cooperatively with other lifeguards, supervisors, and Parks & Recreation Department staff.
