Job Overview:
Are you a skilled machinist with a passion for precision and innovation. At Ingersoll Rand, we are seeking a talented and dedicated CNC Machine Operator to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities:
* Performs set ups of large Liquid Ring Vacuum Pump components and operations of large Vertical & Horizontal Lathes used to repair and overhaul Large Liquid Rind Vacuum Pumps & Compressors.
* Interprets blueprints/drawings to determine critical dimensions, etc.
* Able to read Micrometers, Vernier Calipers, Dial Indicators & other precision measuring & test equipment as required. Able to maintain low tolerances as indicted by specifications or drawings as low as .0005" at times.
* Understands how to select appropriate cutting tools for various metals. Understands how to determine speeds and feeds to obtain proper surface finish.
* Able to work overtime; typically throughout the week and occasionally on weekends.
* Safe operation of Forklift within a Machine Shop environment. Safe Over Head Crane operation.
* Lifting and Rigging of heavy components of various configurations & weights. Adheres to all company EH&S & QMS processes.
* Assisting in the disassembly, reassembly, repair and rebuilding of Large Liquid Ring Vacuum Pumps. Other responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
* At least 2+ (two) or more years of experience as a machine operator / machinist
* At least 2+ (two) or more years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
* Ability to effectively and safely use a variety of tools and equipment, including but not limited to depth gauges, bore gauges, height gauges, feeler gauges, micrometers, calipers, deburring tools, die grinders, drill presses, and overhead lifting equipment.
Core Competencies:
* Applicants will be required to demonstrate knowledge of machine setup, as well as usage of machine controls and capabilities.
* Proven ability to set up and operate CNC machining work centers, specializing in tool changes and in-process offset adjustments.
Preferences:
* High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
* Technical/vocational degree in Machining highly desired.
