As part of Garver's growing College Station WDC team, you'll lead a team responsible for producing designs for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, lift stations, and other ancillary infrastructure associated with water and wastewater projects company wide. You'll be engaged in design calculations, hydraulic modeling, facility layouts, equipment selections, managing and coordinating support discipline activities, coordinating with equipment vendors and regulatory agencies, and performing quality reviews. You'll travel occasionally for business development purposes and when a project requires a site assessment as well as support during construction.
What you'll do:
Design water and wastewater treatment processes
Evaluate, select, and implement water and wastewater equipment
Lead the design pump stations, lift stations, and pump selection
Lead hydraulic analyses of water and wastewater treatment plants
Lead conceptual level designs for water and wastewater treatment systems
Lead detailed designs, including contract documents (plans and specifications)
Oversee the development of construction drawings and 3D models
Support construction projects
Coordinate with other support discipline activities, regional Garver offices, and regulatory and funding agencies
Support regional teams with treatment related business development activities
Develop scope, schedule, level of effort, and fees for projects
Plan and monitor budgets
Ensure quality program compliance and delivery of work products that adhere to Garver standardization
Manage and mentor teams
What you'll bring:
Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, chemical, mechanical, biosystems/agricultural, or related engineering discipline from an ABET accredited program
Professional Engineer Licensure (PE)
10 or more years of direct design experience with municipal water and wastewater facilities
Two or more years of experience leading project teams
Experience overseeing facility designs, including detailed plans and specifications for major projects
Understanding of water and wastewater treatment plant systems in a facility-wide environment
Experience performing process equipment evaluation, sizing, and cost estimatine
Experience with hydraulic modeling software
Bonus points if you bring these, too:

As a member of Garver's growing Water Design Center, the Building Information Modeling (BIM) Project Leader will be responsible for leading the drafting and design for projects while managing and mentoring a design squad of BIM Designers and Technicians. The BIM Project Leader will also be responsible for leading the production of 3D Revit models and maintaining CAD/BIM standards for Garver's Water Design Center. The BIM Project Leader will collaborate with multiple teams of engineers, designers, and technicians to produce drawings on various Water Business Line (WBL) projects. Primary responsibilities of the BIM Project Leader will include:
Serve as the primary BIM point of contact for assigned projects
Lead the coordination between project team disciplines (civil, process, structural, mechanical, and electrical)
Drawing Sheet List (both excel and Revit)
Production of compiled PDF's for project milestones from all disciplines
Design changes where necessary
Clash detection and resolution between disciplines
Exporting of Revit files
Civil site plan linking
Facilitate P&ID design with all process modeling.
Lead the development of 3D Revit models
Organization of facilities in different models as project requires.
Coordination of models with sub-consultants as needed.
Maintaining the shared coordinate system.
Owner of secured workset(s) for levels, grids, and scope boxes.
Lead the organization of facility plans, sections, and details in Revit for construction documents.
Attend project meetings as required.
Work closely with Design Phase Managers to maintain scope, budget, and schedule to execute projects.
Maintaining strong communication with engineers and project managers to ensure timely delivery of projects and avoid any potential project conflicts.
Acknowledge and coordinate design issues with disciplines.
Arranging necessary resources for file sharing and communication to effectively share design files across the company or with clients, sub consultants, and contractors.
Coordinate BIM resources for assigned projects.
Develop markups working with the engineers.
Distribute and coordinate workload with your assigned BIM Designers and Technicians.
Review the work of your assigned BIM Designers and Technicians and serve as their mentor.
Provide thorough review of every plan sheet for assigned projects to ensure all projects adhere to company CAD/BIM standards, prior to engineers' review
Requirements:

* Working as team player with a group of technicians and designers of various levels and disciplines (process, structural, mechanical, and electrical) along with Project Leaders and design teams to execute projects and developed detailed design drawings.
