Careers Aviation Project Engineer Woodlands, Texas As part of Garver's Texas Aviation team, the Aviation Project Engineer will be largely responsible for performing design for airport projects, including improvements to runways, taxiways, aprons, airfield grading and drainage, hangars, fuel farms, parking areas, terminal buildings, and other airport construction related projects.
This Project Engineer must have the ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplined team, work with diverse clients, and must be capable of producing full design phase deliverables including drawings, specifications, cost estimates, exhibits, technical reports and narratives. Tasks associated with producing a set of construction documents include drafting, quantity computations, specifications, and cost estimates. Design development software packages including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other civil design packages will be used.
As responsibilities grow, this engineer will have the opportunity to perform periodic onsite construction observation duties, construction administration, and submittal reviews for projects under construction.

Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program
* Licensed as an Engineer in Training
* 2-5 years of related experience
* Candidate will be expected to apply FAA airfield design criteria and understand applicable civil and aviation construction specifications
* Detail-oriented and a team player with strong self-initiative to meet deadlines
* Strong written and oral communication skills with both internal employees and external clients
* Strong working knowledge and ability to design in CAD programs including AutoCAD Civil 3D
* Proficient with Microsoft Office software programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
* Some travel may be required (approximately 10% with occasional overnight)

* Previous experience in civil engineering on airfields

NICET Level II or higher in Construction Materials Testing (preferred).
ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I certification (preferred).

Key Responsibilities
Project Management
Plan, coordinate, and manage multiple CMT projects simultaneously.
Develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
Assign and oversee technicians and inspectors in both field and laboratory settings.
Monitor progress to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
Client Relations & Business Development
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
Build and maintain strong client relationships to encourage repeat business.
Prepare proposals, cost estimates, and project work plans.

What you will need:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree
Professional Engineer (PE) License in Texas
At least 5 to 10 years of experience in municipal infrastructure design (minimum 3 years of Project Management experience)
Experience in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and general knowledge of local criteria including NCTCOG and/or TxDOT
Strong technical knowledge in municipal transportation and infrastructure design
Experience in trail/shared use path design is preferred
Ability to manage transportation, drainage, or water and wastewater projects and lead/mentor staff
AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is required
Experience managing design and plan production
Ability to manage clients and supervise technical staff
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
A positive attitude, be self-directed yet a team player, and have a focus on quality, integrity and success
