    Garver's Transportation Design Center, an integrated team with proficiency and focus in delivering bridge projects, inspections, and load ratings, is seeking a Bridge Inspection Team Leader for our Houston, TX office. A remote or hybrid remote work arrangement is negotiable. This position will work with our in-house engineers, designers, and technicians to provide technical expertise in all areas required to successfully deliver sound inspections and reports. This Bridge Inspection Team Leader will primarily perform SNBI bridge inspection tasks, including field inspection and associated office work. This will include travel to locations across the state of Texas, with occasional travel and work in other states. This position will have the opportunity to collaborate on other tasks, if desired, including load rating and bridge rehabilitation. Responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to: Performing routine inspection of bridges and culverts to SNBI and state specific standards as Inspection Team Leader Coordination of site visits for inspection Assist with underwater inspections Following company's standard procedures for documenting inspections Daily inspection file uploads to specialized interface Bridge Inspection Data Entry Field work, which can include carrying ladders and gear, working at heights, working in hot or cold weather, etc. Perform NSTM Inspections As additional experience and familiarity with Garver's inspection practice is acquired, responsibilities could lead into increased project and staff management opportunities. The successful candidate will be responsible for the hands-on management of exciting water and wastewater projects through all phases of delivery. The successful candidate will help develop and lead diverse and custom water and wastewater projects, build and maintain outstanding client relationships, participate in industry activities and events, and learn and mentor as part of a growing full services team. The North Texas Water Team is an established engineering consulting firm that is rapidly growing. The position may include a variety of projects related to: Water distribution, including pumping and storage Sewer distribution, collection, and pumping Water and wastewater treatment plants Improvements and retrofitting of existing water infrastructure facilities The responsibilities may include, but not limited to the following: Support of business development activities Lead and support conceptual planning studies Support proposal development efforts Scope, fee, and contract development services Display technical competency of water or wastewater engineering and civil engineering Develop and manage detailed project delivery assumption, scope of work, level of effort, and associated man-hour estimates Manage multiple projects concurrently Be responsible for time management and work product quality Keep accurate and up-to-date project accounting on all assigned projects Conduct written and oral project reporting for clients and Team Leader. Reporting will include project design status, upcoming milestones, project accounting, percent completes, progress reports, etc. Prepare and execute Quality Assurance and Quality Control Plans Lead internal and external project workshops Be an active learner responsible for continuing education and learning based on project needs, as well as overall needs of the team Construction management, excluding construction observation, for local projects Periodic travel will be required on an as-needed basis for projects, conferences, marketing, and other duties. Professional and career development while attending industry conferences as a subject matter expert on behalf of Garver and the Water Business Line.
