Cylinder Processor I-22003299 Description Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking a Acetylene - Ethylene Cylinder Processor to join our team located in Hahnville, LA. The Acetylene - Ethylene Cylinder Processor will be responsible for filling, labeling & preparation of Acetylene gas trailers and Ethylene cylinders and trailers. Responsibilities - 12 Hour Shift, Days, Nights & Weekends

Pre-Fill, Fill, and Post Fill bulk acetylene trailers
Operate plant equipment used in the filling process
Use plant tractor to couple, move, and uncouple with bulk acetylene trailers
Start up, operation and shutdown of Acetylene generation and filling equipment
Pre-fill inspections, filling, and post fill inspections of ethylene cylinders
Bulk acetylene trailer maintenance, including installing, removing, or replacing acetylene cylinders, valve replacement, and leak checks
Pre-fill, fill, and post fill ethylene trailers
Perform operator level maintenance of process equipment and housekeeping in the plant
Scrap cylinders to organize the yard
Supporting Management team with maintenance and improvement of Health, Safety, and Quality programs
Perform all work safely
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent preferred
Basic math skills
We will train you if you are not forklift certified!
Ability to work independently and in team environments
Detail oriented with the ability to complete handwritten documentation accurately and neatly
Must be able to work in a drug-free workplace
Must have the ability to work a rotating 12-hour shift (Days, Nights & Weekends) and overtime as needed

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
The Cylinder Processor will visually inspect and perform ultrasonic examination tests on cylinders or otherwise requalify other cylinders (DOT-rated cylinders per CGA and/or DOT guidelines).
In particular, you will:

• Examine returned cylinders for surface defects such as dents, cracks, and burns and roll cylinders to the designated work area. Tests ultrasonically the wall thickness of cylinders. Measure cylinder wall surface defects.
• Operates, calibrates, and performs simple maintenance on computerized ultrasonic examination testing equipment or using hand instruments depending on the type of cylinder being processed.
• Removes valves from cylinders using a wrench or valve-removal equipment after ensuring it is safe to depressurize the cylinder. Maintains a system to ensure the valve is replaced on the cylinder it came from as well as screens/filters as appropriate.
• Determine if the cylinder is acceptable for UE and prepares cylinders for ultrasonic examination by shot blasting and cleaning as necessary.
• Demonstrates knowledge of DOT special exemptions CFR 49 Section 173.34 and CGA pamphlets specified in CFR 49 Section 173.34 and performs all duties in keeping with the company's safety policies and procedures.
• Works safely and meets the requirements of all safety procedures and rules prescribed by State, Federal, and the Company.
