PH Jones are part of British Gas and we are looking for established, highly experienced, self-employed contractors to join our Service and repair & Installation teams to complete a defined workload of jobs. PH Jones are part of British Gas with 50 years' experience providing Gas Central Heating Service, Repair & Installations. We pride ourselves in delivering excellent levels of service to our customers whilst creating a positive working environment for you in which to do so.

Whether joining us as a service & repair engineer or as an installation engineer, contractors can work their own business around us giving flexibility to satisfy your own customer demand while keeping a steady flow of constant work and consistent payment over a period of 3 - 5 days over a 7-day week. Whichever suits your own business best.

Our contract partners enjoy steady workflow and regular payments, with limited overheads. There is no need to give up time quoting jobs or chasing payments. You will be given our state of the art equipment and necessary van stock and all jobs are delivered within a local commute from you base.

To join us a contractor you will need to have an LTD company in place however we can advise and assist sole traders who would be willing to convert their company to a LTD company. All your company documents will need to be up to date which include but not limited to, gas safe registration, public liability insurance, business van insurance, upper tier waste carriers licence.

The candidate will have the ability to perform detailed mechanical design work related a broad range of turbine engine hardware and be willing to mentor junior level design engineers in the related engineering sciences pertaining to modern turbine engine hardware. Other gas turbine hot section component design fundamentals are beneficial and secondary to the primary role including stationary nozzle and turbine blade design, heat transfer/turbine durability methods and secondary flow system analysis fundamentals. All are considered highly beneficial for the role. The selected candidate will play an integral role in ensuring that new and enhanced components/systems fulfill performance, manufacturing, durability, maintainability, and cost targets. The primary function of this role is therefore to perform detailed mechanical design work to develop concepts and solutions, perform mechanical analysis in support of the concepts/detail designs and work within the extended team as necessary to report on work. A strong background in mechanical analysis related to structural vibrations of rotating and static turbine hardware is beneficial. The ideal candidate will thus have the skills necessary to successfully lead progress from concept to validation and have the ability to execute on and support the following engineering activities: Finite Element Analysis (FEA), modal analysis, model and drawing creation, engineering specification development, component durability assessments, engine test data analysis including understanding state of the art mechanical vibration data and appropriate data reduction & interpretation methods. Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
Minimum Qualifications:

+ 5+ years of directly applicable Mechanical Design work experience bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or closely related degree

+ Experience with Concept and Detail design principles

+ Gas turbine design and analysis experience

+ Experience using Finite element (FEA) analysis software to perform detailed analysis

+ Experience with creation, checking and release of engineering drawings

Preferred Qualifications:

+ 10+ years relevant mechanical design work experience

+ Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering

+ Proficiencies for the following skills and tools:

+ Geometric dimensional and tolerance specifications (ASME Y14.5-2009)

+ Design/manufacturing/drawing practices

+ Creo (or related CAD system)

+ Windchill, Microsoft Office and technical writing

+ ANSYS and/or ABAQUS Experience in the design and/or analysis of gas turbine components, gas turbine operation and application, materials and processes, manufacturing methods and test procedures

+ Experience with detailed cross-section stack-ups

+ Experience with life prediction methods

+ Experience with turbine blade heat transfer essentials

**Job Purpose**

The Liquified Natural Gas / Compressed Natural Gas (LNG/CNG) Asset Management Lead Engineer is responsible for developing strategies, performing analyses, and creating plans that enable National Grid to build and maintain safe and reliable LNG/CNG facility operations while optimizing the return on investment from the companys LNG/CNG assets.

**Key Accountabilities**

Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

+ Provide risk-based asset management support of LNG and CNG assets in National Grids New England Gas Service Territory

+ Set the asset management strategy to improve reliability, manage risk, meet regulatory obligations, and deliver customer satisfaction at optimum cost with consideration for rate case implications

+ Work with LNG Operations to carry out field work and investigation to evaluate asset condition

+ Translate requirements and business objectives into well-defined asset replacement projects and life extension programs with clearly defined business cases

+ Develop, budget, and deliver asset plans for maintenance and capital investment to improve business performance for short (annual blanket work) and long term (10-year plan)

+ Support portable LNG operations when necessary

+ Advance National Grids Asset Management Maturity level in accordance with API 1173 and ISO 55001

+ Work with Process Safety team to implement and support process safety controls

**Qualifications**

+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited engineering school required

+ 7+ years process or design engineering experience or asset management at an LNG and/or CNG facility or similar, including naval or maritime experience required

+ Professional Engineer (PE) License in MA and/or RI preferred

+ Knowledge of NFPA 59A Code and ANSI/CSA NGV Standards preferred

+ Knowledge of current trends within the industry and developments in legislation or regulation preferred

+ 1+ year relevant industry experience in process control and instrumentation or relevant educational experience

+ Valid driver's license required

Salary

$115,000 - $135,000 a year
