The Lead Gas Technician performs a wide variety of tasks relating to the planning, installation, and maintenance serving residential, commercial and industrial customers ensuring system safety and reliability. This individual's primary work is on the piping system, pressure regulating equipment, and customer meters. The Lead Gas Technician will enter businesses, industrial complexes, and customer homes and communicate both verbally and in writing with business proprietors, homeowners, and industrial plant owners and operators to explain complex topics. The Lead Gas Technician additionally serves as a resource to other technicians within the group and must be able to train and share expertise in order to advance the department's skill and ability. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Serves as a First Responder for odor of gas complaints, CO complaints, and pipeline emergencies. Accurately performs pressure tests using appropriate testing equipment. Performs work orders to include but not limited to: leak calls odor complaints final bills meter installs service turn on/off transfers of service meter re-reads Performs compliance-related tasks as assigned to include but not limited to: leak surveys using leak detection equipment regulator & relief inspections operate key valves cathodic inspections line patrols & exposed pipe inspections Performs systems maintenance and upkeep to include but not limited to: mowing and trimming to maintain right of ways painting above ground appurtenances installing line markers locating and completing necessary documentation. What you'll do... Communicates and explains Membership types, programs, and benefits to current and prospective Members to assist with account decisions, build Membership levels, encourage renewals, communicate credit card program types and application processes, and promote the value of Sam's Club products and services. Provides Customer/Member service by acknowledging the Customer/Member, identifying Customer/Member needs, assisting with purchasing decisions, locating merchandise, resolving Customer/Member issues and concerns, and promoting products and services, while maintaining a safe shopping environment. Maintains area of responsibility by cleaning and organizing the car wash/gas station area and ensuring accurate pricing signage Maintains the Gas Station/Car Wash area in accordance with Company policies and procedures by properly handling claims and returns, zoning the area, arranging and organizing merchandise/supplies, identifying shrink and damages, and ensuring a safe work environment. Receives and stocks merchandise/supplies from distribution centers and suppliers throughout the facility and organizes and maintains facility by following company procedures, utilizing equipment appropriately, merchandising, and completing and retaining required paperwork, logs, and other documentation.
