GI Associates company history timeline

1977

The original gastroenterologists of IMA, the late Doctor Kenneth Maxwell and Doctor Edwin Schafer, began their practice in 1977.

1982

In 1982 Doctor Timothy Denzler and Doctor Michael Jones joined their individual private practices to form GIA. Over the years, as each practice grew and welcomed new physicians, the cordial working relationship between the two groups developed.

1999

In 1999, the two groups partnered to open Midwest Endoscopy Services (MES), Omaha’s first Joint Commission accredited, free standing endoscopy center.

2006

In 2006 the practice opened a satellite office in Doylestown providing comprehensive office and procedural services to patients throughout Montgomery and Bucks Counties.

2011

In 2011, the practice expanded into Council Bluffs to fill a community need for gastroenterology services by offering both hospital services and the establishment of two additional clinic locations.
