Purpose Performs a wide range of basic landscaping, maintenance and resources management activities in along the Olentangy Greenway Trail as part of the Olentangy Reemployment Plan. The Olentangy Reemployment Plan is an 8 week program in partnership with the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department. Example of Duties Performs a variety of landscaping, maintenance and resource management duties including, but not limited to mowing, invasive species removal, trail maintenance, fertilizing, trimming, mulching, etc. Picks up litter and empties trash receptacles. Essential Functions: Inspect and tag returned rental equipment noting any damage or other necessary repairs. Using information on repair tag, and with input from Service Writer and Service Manager, troubleshoot equipment and make necessary repairs. Make sure equipment is properly repaired on a timely basis. Full-time Description The permit technician's job is to process applications for hauling permits for oversize/overweight vehicles. Primary Responsibilities: Process applications for special hauling permits for oversize/overweight vehicles on state highway systems. With management approval, assign routes for movement of oversize/overweight vehicles. Respond to requests for insurance verification & routing beyond district perimeters. Communicate with company representatives regarding vehicle size & weight limits, permit issuance procedures, permit limitations, permit provisions, etc. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Knowledge and Skill Requirements: Must have experience with all state permit systems Must have basic knowledgeable of oversize/overweight requirements for each state Must be familiar with multi-axle perimeter trailers and deck trailers Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with little direct supervision Strong communication skills, written and verbal. Must be a problem solver who will utilize all available resources to exceed the customers' expectations Minimum of high school diploma required, College degree preferred Mi Physical Demands and Essential Duties: Prolonged sitting (approximately 8-10 hours per day) in an office environment with the ability to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. The ability to communicate clearly and respectfully under pressure Ability to take phone calls after hours.
