Since 1989, GCHC has been a local leader in establishing and providing excellence in health care for underserved population members of Webb County, Texas.
In 1989, GCHC became independent of the local health department as a 501 (c) (3) Corporation.
In 1991, the organization was fortunate to receive FQHC status and has continued to evolve business practices to address the growth in demand for affordable access to care.
In 2009, the organization successfully expanded its service region by receiving federal funding approval, through an application for Service Area Competition, to provide primary health care services for residents in neighboring Jim Hogg and Zapata Counties.
