    Manages multiple facets of facility operations including general operations, logistics, safety, environmental, capital planning projects, maintenance, and customer support. Duties will typically space across more than one facility or region.     This position is accountable for developing, implementing, and managing efficient, effective, and consistent electrical projects and maintenance processes, including predictive, preventative, pro-active and reliability-based maintenance. In addition, the position serves as an expert resource and advisor to maintenance, operations, engineering, safety and purchasing staff in the resolution of technical issues and the provision of communication/training regarding new technology, maintenance policies and quality control. Monitors and reports progress towards the achievement of annual objectives and key business indicators. Develops and implements contingency tactics to ensure success. * Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of trends within the industry, evaluates the performance of current/new machinery and equipment relative to company requirements, and recommends utilization as appropriate. Identifies, implements, and communicates management and operational "best practices" to colleagues within the department, division, and inter-division partners/customers. * Creates an environment which fosters teamwork and continuous improvement. * Assists with and when appropriate, leads the negotiation, selection, and monitoring of contracted resources/services. * Manages quality assurance programs for all department projects/activities, ensuring that all work complies with applicable quality regulations, codes, department standards, drawings, and customer requirements. * Supports the implementation of proactive health, safety, environmental and security programs and the functional guidance of Environment, Health & Safety Department. Develops and submits regular and ad hoc reports outlining work unit achievements, challenges, and opportunities, congruent with department, divisional and corporate administrative procedures. * Directs the development of changes required to the Viterra Electrical Safety Program (ESP), provides training and ongoing technical support for the ESP. * Manages regulatory compliance to Provincial electrical inspection requirements. * Manages facility security system requirements and acts as the Viterra liaison with the corporate service provider. * Performs other duties as required. Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills: * Minimum eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in Agri-Business facility maintenance and/or construction, including bulk material handling systems, at least five years of which have been in a supervisory/project management capacity or an equivalent combination of education and experience. * Certified electrician or electrical engineer. * Equivalent combinations of education and experience that result in the required level of knowledge, skill and competence will be considered. Special Demands: * Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
