Delta Gear is an AS9100 and ISO9001 registered facility which manufactures Automotive & Truck Differentials, Gear Products, Prototype/Development and Production, Transmission Builds. In addition, we provide contract gear and CMM inspection services. Delta Gear is looking for hard-working, reliable, responsible, and dependable individuals that take pride in their work and are committed to establishing a career in the manufacturing industry.

** This position involves inspection of gears, shafts and machined components. Your position would involve using metrology and inspection equipment to ensure parts are made to the print tolerances.

Tasks:

  • Support the quality and manufacturing departments with 1st piece, in-process and final inspection of parts
  • Use of manual inspection equipment including but not limited to micrometers, gages and other inspection equipment
  • Skilled at geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (G,D &T) experience
  • Blue print reading
  • Reviewing G,D & T on prints to determine inspection methods
  • Perform layout inspections, first piece approvals, in-process inspections and other aspects of quality control through-out manufacturing processes.
  • Gather and maintain quality documentation including first articles, ballooning drawings and assembling certification packages.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Quality Assurance
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of Inspection tools and best practices
  • GD&T knowledge and use

Skills/Key Competencies:

  • Gear inspection experience is helpful but not required
  • Strong communication, and motivational and skills
  • Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • A technical background for manufacturing and metrology related equipment
  • CMM knowledge along with programming

The Gear Lab Inspector position is primarily responsible for inspecting and recording dimensions of aerospace components per process sheets, Inspection reports, blueprints and applicable specifications utilizing specified gages and methods to ensure the quality requirements are met prior to presenting the final aerospace component to the customers. Responsibilities:
  • Measure and assess product quality using a variety of measurement techniques including: traditional surface plate layout techniques, variety of hand gauging methodologies and automated inspection equipment.Presentation of inspected/received parts to various customer representatives and assist with the resolution to customer questions or concerns.
  • Support inspection operations by the development, support, qualification, maintenance and control of automated inspection programs.
  • Support calibration function by measuring and determining quality of specialized hard gages or masters.Generate required documentation to ensure effective product traceability and record retention of inspection activities.Ability to operate CMM or CNC machines - ability to learn how to operate M&M machines and faro machines desired
  • Timely and accurately disposition product, reporting and/or communication.
  • Support organizational improvement activities by acting as a team member in improvement functions.
  • Support organizational departmental cross training initiatives by becoming cross trained in various skill blocks within the Quality function as defined and agreed upon by supervision.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Fulfill daily responsibilities in a team based manufacturing environment while maintaining and upholding Timken's core values.
  • Perform tasks as assigned by Supervisor and/or Team Leader. Qualifications:
    • US Citizen
    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Minimum of 1 Year of inspection/machining experience
    • Ability to use dimensional inspection tools, i.e. micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, thread gauges, etc.
    • Fluent in print / specification interpretation
    • Basic understanding of GD&T and corresponding measurement techniques
    • Familiar with ISO / AS9100 requirements
    • Ability to operate CNC machines, or CMM, M&M and/or faro machines.
    • Industrial mathematics
    • Solid written, verbal and computer skills
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
