Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Win, lead, plan, and manage contracts for CEQA/NEPA and other environmental services on a variety of water resources, natural resources, and energy projects throughout Southern California.
Serve as senior project manager and/or environmental task leader and manage the technical, financial, and client relationship aspects of projects.
Oversee preparation of technical analyses and reports for CEQA, NEPA, and other environmental documents to comply with state and federal regulations.
Identify, evaluate, and solve complex environmental and regulatory issues facing our clients.
As part of integrated teams, work closely and collaboratively with other project environmental specialists, engineers, planners, project managers, and project directors to execute projects.
Strategically identify new leads for environmental work; plan, lead, manage, and prepare proposals to obtain new work; lead interviews; win competitive work; and maintain strong client relationships to obtain sole source work.
Participate in regional/office planning and initiatives to implement key growth initiatives, expand environmental services, and effectively serve existing and new clients.
Maintain high visibility in the marketplace through regular client contact, participate and encourage active participation in professional organizations, and make presentations at client and industry events.
Serve as a role model for leadership, company culture, and values.
Minimum Qualifications
BA, BS, MA, MS, or Ph.D. in Environmental Studies, Environmental or Biological Sciences, Archaeology, Urban Planning, Geography, or other natural or physical sciences from an accredited college or university.
At least 15 years of relevant experience in CEQA/NEPA compliance with increasing responsibilities for winning, managing, and executing environmental projects in California.
Experience strategically planning, leading, managing, and preparing CEQA/NEPA documents.
Knowledge and strategic expertise identifying, evaluating, and solving environmental and regulatory issues related to water resources, natural resources, and energy projects in California.
Strong reputation for high-quality work products and regulatory problem solving within the industry (environmental, engineering, and legal).
Seller-Doer with established network of clients and contacts, entrepreneurial spirit, and a successful track record in business development.
Experience strategically planning, leading, managing, and preparing proposals, statements of qualifications, and other marketing materials to obtain new work.
Outstanding problem-solving, organization, coordination, writing, people, and verbal communication skills; solid work ethic; and ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties
Assist in managing, planning, and implementing environmental compliance projects in urban and remote areas throughout California but focused in the Sacramento Valley and Bay Area. Expected responsibilities include:
Compile, maintain, and distribute all project permits and authorizations, and required protection and mitigation measures, and prepare environmental compliance plans.
Track and maintain detailed project construction schedule.
Schedule, organize and/or conduct environmental and other resource awareness training programs for project construction staff.
Schedule biologists and coordinate required resource-specific preconstruction surveys (e.g., for nesting birds) and specialty monitors (e.g., cultural resource specialists, qualified biologists, qualified stormwater practitioners), as well as meetings with regulatory agency monitors.
Conduct routine environmental inspections of active project work areas to ensure environmental compliance, including on-site safety and compliance meetings with construction crews and/or regulatory agencies.
Manage data collection, ensuring data quality, and generate weekly, monthly, and annual summary reports.
Communicate regularly and clearly with project management, client, and regulatory agency staff to troubleshoot compliance issues, discuss project variances, and provide updates.
Prepare technical studies, environmental documents, and permit applications, and coordination with various federal, state, and local agencies. Responsibilities may include:
Lead and/or coordinate biological resource surveys, and prepare technical reports.
Prepare and process of permit applications for Clean Water Act Sections 404 and 401, Porter-Cologne Water Quality Control Act, and/or California Fish and Game 1600;
Support Federal and State Endangered Species Act consultations;
Prepare technical sections of CEQA/NEPA documents; and/or
Represent clients in meetings and phone calls with regulatory agencies;
Actively participate in multi-disciplinary teamwork with biologists, planners, landscape architects, restoration ecologists, and engineers.
Implement and reinforce safety precautions at all project work locations.
Perform other duties as required and that advance your skill-set and environmental career.
Minimum Qualifications
BA, BS, MA, or MS in Environmental Studies, Environmental Sciences, Natural Resources Management, Biology, or related natural or physical sciences from an accredited college or university.
At least 7 years of relevant experience. At least 5 of these years in construction monitoring and worker environmental awareness training is preferred.
Knowledge and expertise in federal and State environmental regulations.
Outstanding problem-solving, organization, coordination, writing, people, and verbal communication skills.
Solid work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.
Strong writing skills, including experience writing biological technical studies, permit applications, and sections for CEQA/NEPA compliance documents.

**Job Description**
**AECOM** is seeking a **Field Wildlife Biologist (Biologist II)** to help deliver some of California's most critical broadband infrastructure projects. We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable individual to join our group of environmental professionals. This position will join our Natural Resources team based in our Sacramento or Bakersfield, CA offices.
***This is a primary field-based, on-call position, meaning hours will vary based off of project needs.**
This position would support client projects based primarily in the Central Valley region. The position would focus on natural resources assessment and environmental compliance support for biological and aquatic resources, with a focus on construction monitoring and natural resource field surveys.
**The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:**
+ Surveys for special-status wildlife and suitable habitat areas.
+ Field surveys to identify aquatic resources including vernal pool complexes.
+ Preparation of brief memoranda documenting survey results.
+ Pre-construction surveys for listed plant and wildlife species and nesting birds.
+ Leading on-site natural resources Worker Environmental Awareness Program training for construction contractors on various projects.
+ Monitoring during construction activities for compliance with environmental requirements and permits, including coordination and communication with the AECOM leadership team, client, construction contractor, and agency personnel.
+ Production of daily monitoring logs to summarize work activities and compliance.
+ Participation as an active and positive member of AECOM's Environmental Planning and Permitting practice in California.
+ **Travel to areas between Sacramento and Bakersfield will be required. Work will require commitment to short-term assignments. Overnight travel may be required.**

+ Experience as a construction monitor tasked with leading WEAPs, working with construction contractors, and implementing avoidance and minimization measures for plant and wildlife species and surface waters.
+ Experience identifying vernal pools.
+ Experience surveying for and identifying vernal pool species.
+ Skilled in California rare plant identification.
+ Experience with field data collection tools such as ArcGIS Field Maps and Fulcrum.
+ Has a positive attitude and is adaptable to changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment and working safely in hot and cold environments with potential long days.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
B.S. in the geology, environmental sciences, environmental engineering or related field.

GEI Consultants is seeking multiple biological field technicians based out of our Sacramento office to implement project work such as: compliance monitoring, species and habitat evaluations, and species surveys. What we are looking for SCS Engineers is looking for a Project Manager to join our Renewable Energy Division. The division focuses on renewable energy design/build/operate projects in the renewable biogas and renewable power markets. SCS Energy's biogas-to-energy facilities currently operating, or currently under design or construction, will remove more than 2,000,000 metric tons/year of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) in greenhouse gas emissions from the atmosphere. Our projects help a diversified client base achieve their renewable energy goals by reducing their carbon footprint and creating useful by-products from waste material. SCS builds systems that power universities, wastewater treatment plants and dairies; generate renewable natural gas sales; and support electric utilities.
The Project Manager will handle day-to-day project management of the design, construction and commissioning of renewable power and gas-processing facilities as well as detailed engineering activities. Project size will range from $45MM to $80MM. This role is stationied in our Long Beach, CA Headquarters, but can be hybrid. Travel will be required.
How you can make an impact
* Coordinate design and deliverables with in-house resources, as well as outside sub-consultants.
* Prepare detail design documents and specify and select equipment.
* Prepare equipment and subcontractor/subconsultant procurement documentation.
* In coordination with the site superintendent, manage construction activities, including managing subcontractors, QA/QC, commissioning, and facility startup.
* Point-person for client interface on projects.
* Help develop project estimates and proposals.
* Estimating project costs, project scoping, and grant/funding applications.
* Travel to support marketing, client needs, project management and facility commission/start up ~30%.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering preferred, but Bachelor's Degree in Science, Construction or Engineering required.
