    Your role at GEI. GEI's Exton, DC and Rockville area offices continue to grow and are seeking a Geotechnical / Geostructural Engineer who has experience with geotechnical engineering design - specifically, an excellent foundation in soil mechanics, geotechnical engineering, and/or structural engineering concepts, and experience or interest in excavation support design and earth retaining systems. The selected candidate needs to be able to collect geotechnical and instrumentation data from site investigation activities and help interpret this data into designs. Construction observation/management and grouting experience is a plus. Under the direction of a Senior Engineer, this individual will provide support to ongoing design efforts that include preparation of design documents for foundations and excavations support systems; ground improvement; instrumentation; and environmental work. Essential Responsibilities & Duties The desired skills include construction observation/ management, geotechnical and structural design, instrumentation design and interpretation, and technical specification support. Familiarity with basic excavation support design and ground improvement design is a plus. Other responsibilities include: Overseeing geotechnical field investigations. Performing geotechnical in-situ testing. Coordinating and interpreting lab tests. Performing engineering analysis and calculations. Preparing technical memos, reports, and construction specifications. Preparing and modifying drawings using AutoCad. Providing grouting oversight and design. Minimum Qualifications B.S. in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical is required M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred Minimum of three years of experience is preferred Excellent writing and general communication skills 40-hr OSHA/HAZWOPER training is a plus Ability to travel as required by project needs Ability to perform field work Valid U.S. driver's license. Assist with evaluating, processing, tracking, and drafting all proposed or actual contract modifications. Manage project budgets and financial performance by tracking costs, forecasting expenses, and ensuring profitability. Review all Value Engineering (VE) Proposals, supporting documentation, technical evaluations, and recommend acceptance or rejection of the proposal. Review cost estimates. Review project budget. Resolve disputes and contractual issues by working with legal, claims, and project control teams. Review the payment invoices, negotiate disputed items, and prepare recommended payment vouchers for signature. Reviewing Earned Value Management (EVM) data and reports Final Payment and Contract Acceptance Management Commissioning Management and Coordination Construction Schedule review and reporting Oversee project scheduling and resource allocation to optimize productivity and efficiency. Assist in enforcing labor standards at the Project site. Assist with instituting corrective actions if labor violations are found. Confirm that the construction contractor has posted the effective wage rate decision at the site. Submit a written report summarizing Subcontractor activity, compliance with the Subcontracting Plan, and adherence to goals contained within the Subcontracting Plan. Verify that the approved Subcontracting Plan is followed once each quarter (four times per year). Verify that workers designated as apprentices are enrolled in a certified apprenticeship program. Review payrolls to verify payment of any required minimum wage rates. Immediately notify the construction contractor, the COR, or other project officials if a potentially life-threatening safety conditions are observed. Inspect the construction contractors' workmanship, materials, and equipment for conformity with requirements of the construction contracts. Lead safety and quality control initiatives to maintain a safe work environment and deliver high-quality outcomes. Maintain a list of all defects and omissions. Maintain Non-Conformance Notice and Open Issues Log Reconciliation Monitor project progress and prepare reports for executive leadership, clients, and stakeholders. Notify project of test failures and planning corrective actions Qualifications Minimum Requirements: BA/BS + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education 8 years of experience progressive construction project management experience that includes knowledge of all project phases: planning, design, preconstruction, construction, commissioning, and turnover to operations. Experience with managing US Federal Government projects within the past 5 years. Relevant experience leading contacts, managing people, budgets, schedules, overseeing subcontractor performance, and working with stakeholders and governing agencies on behalf of a public-works owner. Job Description AECOM has an excellent career opportunity for a creative and talented Project Coordinator to support implementation of a U.S. Department of State (DOS) funded global infrastructure and investment activity. The Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment (PGI) Fund Task Order serves as a project preparation platform providing infrastructure transaction advisory services and technical assistance on a flexible, rapid response basis to specific public or private sector projects to help resolve legal, technical, or regulatory barriers holding back investors or deal closure, and otherwise help to accelerate project development and execution. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the following tasks: Project Coordination: * Support the project management team in the development and monitoring of project workplans and budgets, including technical deliverables, assist with financial and project performance reviews, and contribute to client and corporate reporting requirements. * Assist the project management team and international field teams in coordinating implementation of specific work assignments, including mobilizing and assisting technical assistance teams and tracking project implementation from activity design and launch through to completion. * Support development of project communications and reporting products, including preparing, editing, and formatting reports, PowerPoint decks, reports, briefs, and other project deliverables. * Assist the project management team in ensuring project compliance with all contractual requirements and corporate policies. * Coordinate and contribute to identification of internal and external experts to support work assignment delivery. * Assist with training of project long- and short-term staff on project operational requirements, as required.
