Job Duties
+ Cleans and disinfects patient and non-patient facing areas, departments and spaces.

+ Follows procedures for the proper use of hospital approved products utilized in the cleaning and disinfection processes.
+ Places the appropriate signage in an area to indicate cleaning is occurring and floor is wet to reduce the risk of falls.
+ Reports identified facility repairs as directed or observed, according to current established policy or procedure.
+ Utilizes mobile technology to ensure compliance with bed management procedures and other environmentalservices functions that are performed daily.
+ Performs detailed cleaning to include but not limited to; high dusting, walls, ceilings, tracks, vents and lights.
+ Collects soiled linen and transports to hospital staging area for vendor pickup as applicable.
+ All EVS Staff who enter Medication Rooms (Where Applicable) must receive mandatory education on proper Medication Room protocol.

Position Details

Summary
The EVS Technician will maintain assigned area in a sanitary and orderly condition. Performs a variety of duties including cleaning and dusting furniture, vacuuming floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing trash. The EVS Technician is also responsible for the care and maintenance of equipment and supplies. May also be assigned to clean snow or debris from Institute grounds and notify management of the need for major repairs.

Job Description
The EVS Technician will:
Performs general housekeeping responsibilities such as moping, dusting, vacuuming, carpet shampooing and other related duties.
Cleans and polishes sinks, tubs, mirrors and similar equipment; replenishes supplies of soap, towels, toilet paper and other dispensable items.
Strips, buffs and applies wax to floors in designated areas on a routine basis.
Picks up trash and empties wastebaskets from and transports to designated location outside building; cleans waste receptacles.
Cleans and/or chemically disinfects walls, ceilings, windows, radiators and blinds in patient rooms, hallways and other areas.
Moves and arranges furniture/equipment in an orderly fashion. Sets up required meeting and functional rooms.
Maintains outside grounds during summer months and may operate snow plow tractor for snow removal during winter months.
Removes soiled bed linen from assigned areas; makes beds with fresh linen in prescribed manner at patient discharge.
Performs all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.

Work requires a fundamental level of knowledge such as the ability to follow oral or written instructions and perform simple arithmetic.

Will have contact with patients, their families, and other RIC staff depending on work area and therefore should have appropriate interpersonal skills.

EnvironmentalServices Aides are employed by Jani King not Jackson Parish Hospital. Candidates filling this position will be contract workers for Jackson Parish Hospital.
The EnvironmentalServices Aide completes cleaning tasks and ensures the trash and linen duties are carried out as assigned. The EnvironmentalServices Aide maintains a positive customer service attitude toward patients, families, and visitors and greets all guests in a friendly manner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITES:
Performs housekeeping assignments/duties that require heavy lifting such as but not limited to sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, laundry, and sanitizing equipment, to maintain established standards of cleanliness and productivity.
Ensure that work cleaning schedules are complete before end of shift.
Dispose of trash in appropriate containers.
Clean up spills as soon as possible
Have appropriate signs in place warning of wet floors, etc.
Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity.
Attends department meetings and educational in-services to maintain professional competency. Obtains appropriate hospital-specific education and training when necessary or required.
Responds to all emergency situations within the facility and follows appropriate hospital procedure.
Adheres to all Jackson Parish Hospital policies, procedures, safety plans, and all standards imposed by regulatory organizations.
Wear PPE as required.
Regular attendance and timeliness is required. Unexcused absences will not be tolerated.
Adheres to department and hospital dress code policy and procedure.
Performs all/any additional duties as assigned by the department manager/supervisor.

Requirements
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent
One year hospital housekeeping experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS/ REQUIREMENTS
Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Additional languages preferred.
Strong written and verbal skills.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to work alone or with minimal supervision.
Professional/Courteous rapport with patients, families, co-workers, physicians and visitors.
Ability to work under and handle stress in an appropriate manner.
Ability to work long hours between breaks and meals may be required.

We are looking for a driven, detail-oriented person to review engineering plans, technical documents, and permit applications for solid waste landfills and facilities to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable state laws and regulations.
You'll conduct engineering inspections and oversight of facility construction, with special attention to proper soil compaction and liner installation. You'll prepare reports and correspondence summarizing inspection findings and develop strategies for bringing about compliance for facilities, as needed, including enforcement referrals.
You'll participate in agency and division workgroups and enforcement cases and provide technical assistance to permittees, boards of health, government officials, and industry professionals regarding established solid waste management regulations and practices.
