Position Summary: The essential function of the Electrician is to provide the service, repair, maintenance, and installation of products primarily to residential customers. The Licensed Electrician utilizes customer service training to educate and assist customers in choosing services, products and finance options. Work locations will be in RI and MA. Essential Job Duties: Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous. Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system Maintain current electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulations Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes Price jobs and calculate time to perform work Complete necessary paperwork for work performed Calculate the cost of service for the customer and collect payment Supervisory Responsibilities: The Licensed Electrician will be required to train and work one-on-one with Electrical apprentices. Job Description Licensed Service Electrician w/ heavy Fire Alarm Experience (Commercial Service) Professional Electrical Contractors (PEC) is accepting resumes for Licensed Journeyman Commercial Service Electrician with heavy Fire Alarm experience. Top priority will be given to candidates that have a strong background in Fire Alarm work. Our work involves - Retail, Academic, Healthcare, Renewable Energy, Fire Alarm & Large PV projects and multi-family housing projects PEC is a Massachusetts based commercial electrical contractor that has been in business for over 42 years, with our corporate office located in Canton, MA. We offer above average hourly compensation - plus time and a quarter hourly rate when working nights, company van, gas card and company credit card (for work purposes). Job requirements: Commercial Service experience to also include Retail Service experience heavy fire alarm experience Current valid driver's license as well as a clean driving record Plan layout and the installation of electrical wiring, equipment or fixtures based on job specifications and local codes. Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects or the need for adjustment or repair.
