The Swine Care Technician is at the heart of PIC's operations, with a hands-on role in maintaining the highest standards of animal health and welfare on our farms.     As a Quality Technician, you are responsible for monitoring and inspecting products on the production line to ensure they meet established quality standards and specifications. Report any unsafe conditions or quality hazards to production supervision immediately. Ensure you report safety concerns promptly, actively monitor safety, address safety noncompliance promptly, involve Supervisor as necessary Product Inspection: Perform regular in-process and final inspections of products on the production line, both visually and using measurement tools, to confirm they meet specifications . Tool and Equipment Verification: Check that production operators are using the correct tools for each task and that all tools are in proper working condition. Calibration Control: Verify the calibration status of measurement tools and equipment used on the line to ensure accuracy. Remove any equipment that is out of calibration from service. Labeling and Identification: Inspect products and materials to ensure they are correctly labeled and identified throughout the production process. Non-Conforming Material Control: Identify, tag, and segregate any non-conforming products or materials. Document findings to prevent further use and ensure proper disposition. Work Instruction Compliance: Regularly audit production activities to confirm that all personnel are strictly adhering to current work instructions, procedures, quality standards and alerts. When VKS is available, confirming that personnel is logged into VKS and following it. Issue Escalation: Escalate any conflicts with requirements, persistent non-conformances, or unresolved quality issues to the Quality Manager or production supervisor in a timely manner. Documentation and Reporting: Accurately complete all inspection and testing records. Document inspection results and non-conformances and summarize findings in regular reports. Team Collaboration: Communicate clearly and effectively with production line operators, maintenance staff, and quality team members regarding quality concerns, inspection results, and corrective actions.     Job Description SUMMARY: The Quality Technician is primarily responsible for ensuring product quality by conducting inspections, verifying compliance with quality standards, supporting assembly, molding and paint operations, and maintaining accurate documentation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. · Perform first-piece inspections on all active molding and assembly presses at the start of the shift including color checks, SPC measurements, and gaging. · Collect parts from molding and assembly for SPC checks once per shift. · Make quality decisions per the proper standards and samples. · Review, create, and sign off on labels, mold/color change logs, and other required documentation for management. · Review and update quality alerts; ensure alerts are properly addressed. · Conduct mid-shift audits via various documents and record findings. · Contain and clearly label any defective parts found during the shift. · Respond to operator-reported issues and ensure defective items are held from production. · Sort parts on hold during downtime and return acceptable parts to production or remove from the system. · Assist in updating Work Instructions (WI) and document changes. · Support color checks, gloss testing, and film build measurements. · Clearly label, contain, and segregate suspect or rejected parts in accordance with company protocols. · Any other project deemed necessary by Department head(s). · Maintain compliance of IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 / ISO 14001.
