Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years, or Master's and 6+ years' , a PhD and 3+ years experience supporting U.S. Government contracts and customers. In lieu of a degree, 12+ years of relevant experience will be considered.
Must possess an active/current Top-Secret/SCI at time of application.
Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) methodologies and tools (Earned Value Management System).

**Northrop Grumman's Space Systems sector** is looking for a **Senior Director** to lead Software and Controls Engineering organization of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will report directly to the Vice President of Central Region Engineering and can be based out of Aurora, CO, Colorado Springs, CO, or Huntsville, AL.
**As the Senior Director of Software and Controls** , you will be responsible for the technical leadership, people leadership, and supervisory responsibilities of over 1000 engineers. You will communicate the goals and priorities of the Space Systems sector Engineering organization, ensuring that all engineering activities are aligned with these objectives, interpreting and developing organizational strategies, policies and practices to meet staffing, program execution, business development, budgetary, and workforce development objectives.
The selected candidate will:

+ Collaborate with Space Systems sector Divisions, Business Units, Operating Units, and programs to plan for and provide staffing to ensure successful program execution.
+ Collaborate with peer Central Region and Space Systems sector Engineering leaders to effectively support program execution across all supported programs.
+ Collaborate with multiple functional organizations (business management, human resources, manufacturing & operations, mission assurance, security, and talent acquisition) to define strategies that enhance engineering effectiveness and efficiency.
+ Identify engineering focus areas for improvement, development and execution of engineering initiatives, and elimination of non-value-added activities in all levels of the engineering organization.
The candidate requires a broad engineering knowledge base in Software and Controls Engineering, and Hardware Engineering specific to Antennas, Ground Entry Points (GEPs), Mobile Systems, and Radars. In addition to understanding the technical domains of Software and Controls Engineering, this position requires experience in functionally managing large teams of personnel and alignment with leadership and company goals. The ideal candidate will also have a background in Systems Engineering, business management & finance, program management, proven strategic planning and business execution capabilities, as well as the ability to work collaboratively across business areas and divisions.
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with a minimum of 15 years of progressive technical experience in engineering.
+ 8+ years of management experience in engineering or related technical fields.
+ Understanding of the engineering development lifecycle across multiple engineering disciplines with a focus on Software and Controls Engineering.
+ Have knowledge and experience with Agile execution, DevSecOps, and development tools.
