What You'll Do
As a Production Team Member, you will:

About the Role:
Reporting to the Foam Dept. Observe general operation of line, quality of product, remove entangled foil, and rethread/ restart machines as necessary.
Remove jammed cartons as they occur.
Observe for proper operation of case packer and related conveying equipment.

Operate and maintain a minimum of two forming presses along with two sets of packaging lines.
Troubleshoot problems during operation for both the forming presses and packaging line equipment.
Supply and install all raw material for the forming presses and packaging equipment as needed.
Monitor quality of product as it is discharged from forming machines, such as formation, stack configuration, print quality, delivery to packaging line, etc.
Monitor the quality of the packaged product after passing through the packaging line.
Execute and maintain all WSWD procedures and standards:
Peer to Peer communication-Huddle to discuss status of production line with shift counterparts. Document productivity and losses
Centerlines-Confirm machine settings and complete deviations when setting note to standard.
CIL's-Clean and inspect equipment daily to find and report defects.
Defect Handling-Complete defect tags for any defects found on the equipment.
6S-Maintain workspace organization.
Breakdown Elimination-Tag parts removed and replaced during a breakdown. Place into part morgue bin
Communicate with assigned Packers to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials.
Load paperboard rolls onto machine ensuring its placement is correct.
Assist the Packers in packing product when lines are running efficiently.

Remove and replace tooling as required for a variety of parts.

On initial set-up use precontrolled set-up procedures.
Precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and dial indicators must be used.
Work with the CNC control panel.
Perform Production Run:
Place part in holding fixture and clamp in place, start machine by push button, foot pedal or lever.
Unclamp and remove part when machine completes operations.
Deburr part, assemble parts, weld rivet, Double Disc, Notch the nose, and repeat the cycle.
Check parts with gauges provided and record finding on charts.
Make all adjustments necessary to ensure parts stay within specified control limits.
Simultaneous set-up and operation of multiple machines is required due to long cycle times.
Keep coolant and oil levels at the proper levels and concentrations.
After hardening is done, check handle alignment and straighten if needed.
Check joint tensions and adjust as needed.
Weigh gage as needed.
Check handle spread and gage as needed.

**Overview:**
MachineOperators are responsible for continuously monitoring and maintaining product quality based on established standards including visual and mechanical inspection of product, as well as work in a safe manner following all safety policies and procedures. Performing setups in accordance with established procedure, operating, and loading/unloading equipment. Work from written and verbal instructions, procedures and work orders are also required.

Additional responsibilities include: Maintaining and logging all information required supporting traceability and quality, participating in cross-training activities, maintaining work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition, and performing other duties as required or directed.
**Qualifications:**
**Required:**
+ High school diploma, GED
+ 2 year manufacturing machineoperation requirement
+ Prior manufacturing experience with the ability to prioritize and pay close attention to detail
+ Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, stooping, and bending is required
+ Must be able to work independently and distinguish colors
+ Must be able to use and read a micrometer
+ The ability to demonstrate your mechanical and computer skills
+ Must have good English skills in reading, writing and communicating
+ Must be able to work in a team environment and to work overtime as the need arises
+ Must be able to pass background check and drug test
**Preferred:**
+ Prior extrusion experience preferred
+ Wire drawing/extrusion/cabling experience
**Work Environment/Physical Demands:**

+ Will be required to stand, walk, and bend frequently.
