General cleaner job description

Full-Time Hourly/Non-Exempt

The General Cleaner will be responsible for the cleanliness of our fulfillment center, including but not limited to keeping the building clean, maintaining restrooms, cleaning break rooms and disposing of trash. This position reports to the FC Manager. This is a full-time, third shift position.
*Starting pay is $16.00/hour

Primary Responsibilities
Clean office, break room and restrooms. Dispose of all office and warehouse trash daily and after breaks, as needed. Duties included sweeping, vacuuming, mopping and similar cleaning. Other duties as assigned.


Required Education and Skills
Self-motivated and well organized. Motivation to manage time efficiently with minimal supervision. Experience cleaning and maintaining an office, warehouse or similar facility. Experience with light repair work, use of tools and assembling furniture is preferred but not required. Able to lift 50 or more pounds. Able to be on feet an entire 8-hour shift. Excellent problem-solving ability. Capacity to work well with others. Valid driver's license.

The employee is occasionally required to sit but will mostly be on their feet the entire shift. The employee must climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

DAYS/HOURS: Up to 20 hours per week – Tuesday and Wednesday 7:30pm to 12:00am - Friday and Sunday 5:30pm to 10:00pm Starting and ending hours are flexible within 1 hour

PAY: $14.00/hour – Non-Exempt

DUTIES:
This position is responsible for completing janitorial cleaning of an assigned area. General cleaning tasks include, but are not limited to: Vacuuming, sweeping, wet and dust mopping, trash removal, restroom cleaning, vent cleaning, wall washing, window washing, high and low dusting, and detail cleaning. Floor care tasks: strip, wax, scrub and buff floors and shampoo carpets.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Be able to pass BCI background check.
• Employer conducts pre-employment drug test.

SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Have good customer service skills and be able to communicate well with the public.
• If applicable to job site; employee must have the physical ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, twist, stoop, squat, and reach as required to complete the job.
• Be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Be able to meet the established quality control standards.
• Work independently and unsupervised.
• Have attention to detail.
