Responsibilities for this Position
General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Business Area Segment Director within the Intelligence Systems Line of Business. The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nations fundamental defense services. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
The position is responsible for the strategic direction, operational leadership, customer relationships, growth and managing a profit and loss center for a $100M/year business that is responsible for concept design, development, production, support and integration of Radio Frequency Intelligence Systems for the US government and foreign partners. We are a trusted provider of end-to-end SIGINT systems that support FISINT, COMINT and ELINT missions. As an integral part of the leadership team, a vital responsibility is the achievement of financial operating goals through effective management of a profit and loss center. The candidate must be able to develop strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and customers. A commitment to customer satisfaction with the ability to deal with internal and external clients in high pressure situations within a dynamic environment is critical.
The Director is accountable to drive the vision to full implementation through employee engagement, new business opportunities, technology development, customer growth and increased vendor and teammate partnership to ensure the business area achieves objectives at all levels. The Business Area Segment Director is responsible for ensuring successful program execution from the team, business area growth through award of new contracts, achievement of operating targets, management of indirect budget, and is expected to have a high-level of proficiency in applicable technical concepts. The Business Area Segment Director must have demonstrated and relevant experience working with both government and large prime contractors as customers, delivering complex systems and solutions.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:
Directs a business area within a division consisting of multiple disciplines, programs, products, and/or customers to meet current and long term business objectives
Responsible for customer satisfaction, leadership, overall performance, schedule, and profit and loss of large programs, or a portfolio of programs and/or products throughout the entire program life cycle
Ensures creation of well-constructed, comprehensive business plans
Establishes strategic plans and objectives in coordination with others

Qualifications and Requirements include:
* 21 years of age or older at time of application
* High school graduate or GED; 2 or more years of college preferred

* Must be able to pass DOT/FAA pre-employment and randomized drug screens. Medical and recreational marijuana is prohibited due to the safety-sensitive nature of the Flight Attendant position.
* Must be able to pass a 10-year background check, including criminal background history. Your background must not prohibit travel to or from anywhere United flies. For example, Canada has a strict inadmissible classification for DWI/DUI charges including misdemeanors. If you have been on probation or convicted of a DWI/DUI within the last 10 years, the Canadian government will not allow you to travel to and from Canada unless you have already received a Temporary Resident Permit (TRP) from the Canadian government which will allow you to continue your work duties for a temporary period of time.
* Must, with or without reasonable accommodation, meet hearing and vision requirements as established by the Federal Aviation Administration and United Airlines, including not having hearing loss on audiometry in better ear greater than 40 dB when losses at 500, 1000, and 2000 Hz are averaged; and, each eye must be 20/40 or better corrected for both far and near vision.

What does this role look like?
Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) provides the advanced Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) waveform, giving warfighters 10 times the communications capacity of the legacy UHF SATCOM system. Work Procedure and/or Responsibility Assigned:
1. Receive work assignment from Group Leader and Supervision.
2. Read and follow safety regulations and procedures and weld symbols.
3. Setup equipment by setting amperage, voltage, pressures, feeds, and speeds within limits specified and obtaining specified electrode.
4. Position and operate manual, semi-automatic and automatic welding equipment to deposit single and multiple layers and weld in all positions at joint locations specified where care must be exercised to produce quality welds with uniform penetration.
Location of parts is determined by others or by fixtures. Load and clamp material in fixtures against fixed stops.
5. Operate carbon arc torch to remove weldments from floorplate or strongback and braces from weldments.
6. Operate handling equipment to lift, move and position material.
7. Sign off operations completed and obtain first piece and final inspection signoffs on operation sheets as required.
8. Maintain tools, equipment, and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
9. Make proper time charge entries and record data as required.
