C23 Machinist Working at our Cincinnati Aviation Component Service Center: Our ACSC facility develops and conducts a wide array of engine component repairs - including rotating parts, complex assemblies and nozzles on 29 different engine models.
* Set up and operate standard machine tools and specialized equipment to make, modify and rework parts and assemblies as directed.
* Will use all types of measuring and hand tools and perform related duties.
* Will work from planning or written instructions, written procedures, blueprints, and repair manuals.
* Will receive work assignments throughout the machine shop and will operate various machine tools.
* Will perform repetitive and/or single piece lot work.
* Must be able to assist and be directed by higher rated machinist and/or toolmaker in the manufacture of a variety of machine (engine) components and assemblies, and to develop/implement new processes.
* Machinists own the repair process from start to finish, so they must be willing to bench, inspect, steam/clean, grit blast, etc. to keep hardware moving.
* Maintain associated paperwork.
* May be called upon to disposition hardware, maintain/change routers, and instruct others as required and perform related duties. Instruct and train others as required.
Required Qualifications:
* 2 years minimum experience within a structured training program (such as an apprentice program) with additional work experience of 3 years (i.e., VTL, VBM, Lathe, Bridgeport, Mills, Drills, Grinders, etc.) OR 5 years work experience as a skilled machinist (i.e., VTL, VBM, Lathe, Bridgeport, Mills, Drills, Grinders, etc.)
* High school degree, or GED
Preferred Qualifications:
* Apprentice graduate OR 10 years or more machinist experience
* Experience with C.N.C. or N.C. or Robotic equipment
* Experience monitoring multiple machines at the same time
* Experience setting up and/or operating various hand and power tools and basic machine tools and equipment

Education and Experience

CNC Machinist II - Turning (2nd Shift)
Overview
This position's primary responsibility is to set-up and operate a variety of CNC Turning Centers including but not limited to: single and dual spindle, single and dual turret, Swiss type, gang tool, and conversation control machines to produce high quality - close tolerance products in a safe, effective/efficient manner to meet operational requirements. The candidate's expertise will be applied in a proactive manner utilizing best practices when conducting documentation review, troubleshooting, continuous improvement, equipment set-up/operation and component inspection related activities.
The incumbent must be an individual who can multi-task and perform various machine shop related activities which are to be conducted in a manner that complies with company requirements (i.e., regulatory, safety, administrative, etc.). This position requires effective interaction with a broad spectrum of people within the organization to successfully support operations and the corporate strategic vision.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
5+ years of related experience involving set-up and operation of precision CNC Turning Centers in an effective, efficient, safe and consistent manner (Aerospace mfg. environment preferred).
High School/(GED) Diploma or Vocational/Technical school equivalent

Position Overview:
As a Machinist at BWXT NOGJ, you will perform a variety of duties within the Operations department and will support various programs across the site. This position will report directly to the Manufacturing Operations Supervisor. Use, operate and read inspection gaging equipment including but not limited to micrometers, calipers, comparators, shadow graphs, indicators, and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)
Inspection of products both in process and post process
Perform machine offsets
Read and interpret blueprints and drawings
Screen product lots
Replace broken or worn tooling as required
Advanced data collection, analysis and reporting activities
Collect, analyze and utilize SPC data

Required Qualifications:
