Role Overview
The EMI/EMC/TEMPEST Engineer will participate in the testing of high assurance products required to comply with military and commercial specifications, including NSA TEMPEST specifications and other TEMPEST directives. **Role Overview**
The Senior FLIGHT DECK Practitioner will lead and drive continuous improvement initiatives across Avionics using the FLIGHT DECK lean operating model. This role is critical in ensuring the highest standards of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) are met. The practitioner will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement lean methodologies, enhance operational efficiency, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Lead the deployment and sustainment of the FLIGHT DECK lean operating model across various departments and teams.
+ Conduct value stream mapping, identify waste, and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
+ Facilitate Kaizen events, workshops, and training sessions to educate and engage employees in lean principles and practices.
+ Develop and implement standard work procedures to ensure consistency and quality in operations.
+ Utilize lean tools such as 5S, Kanban, and root cause analysis to drive problem-solving and process optimization.
+ Collaborate with leadership to align Lean initiatives with business goals and objectives.
+ Mentor and coach team members to build lean capabilities and sustain a culture of continuous improvement.
+ Ensure all lean activities prioritize safety and comply with regulatory and company standards.

**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 9 years of experience in Lean and/or Continuous Improvement)
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in Lean and/or Continuous Improvement
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Master's degree in Engineering or Business
+ 8+ years of experience in Lean and/or Continuous Improvement roles within the Aerospace industry

**The Medical Science Liaison will:**

The anticipated base salary for this position is $115,000 and $197,000. This position is eligible for a company car through the Company's FLEET program.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Core Responsibilities:
Preventive Maintenance (PM)
- Execute scheduled PMs on building systems (Electrical distribution, compressed air, plumbing, fire systems, lighting, doors, dock equipment, and general infrastructure)
- Document PM completion, findings, and parts used in the CMMS

Corrective Maintenance (CM)

* Use various hand or power tools for measuring, cutting, threading, grooving, bending, soldering, assembling, joining, and installing pipes, valves, and fittings
* Read and interpret blueprints for the mechanical operation and assembly of conveyor systems, material handling systems, robots, and other automation
* Operate mobile equipment (e.g. forklifts, vertical lifts, cranes)
* Determine loading requirements to rig equipment and material for lifting
* Set up and operate conventional or computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to cut, bore, grind, or otherwise shape parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes
* Fabricate punches, tools, steel rule tools and t-sets to exact specifications
* Plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools or assemblies using blueprints, sketches, or models
* Determine quality of finished products, ensuring defect-free parts, by verifying dimensions, alignment, and clearances for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators
* At least six (6) years of related experience in a Mechanical trade (millwright, pipefitter, toolmaker, machine repair) or a U.S. Department of Labor Certificate of Completion in a Mechanical trade (millwright, pipefitter, toolmaker, machine repair).
* Must be able to satisfactorily complete the General Motors hiring process requirements which includes comprehensive assessments, drug testing, and a background check
* At least 18 years of age
* Eligible to work in the United States
* Must be willing to work flexible shift hours and day, afternoon, or night shifts as well as overtime hours daily, weekend and holidays on those shifts with little notice

Job Summary:
Help invent the future of flight, lift people up, and bring them home safely as a GE Aerospace intern or co-op! You'll build professional and technical skills in an aerospace systems & defense role working on challenging, real-world problems to design aerospace systems for commercial and military applications & support through service life. You will gain broad exposure to the engineering field with an array of opportunities ranging from design & analysis to working hands-on with aerospace systems. Essential Responsibilities:
An Aerospace Systems & Defense intern/co-op may experience work in the development of engine controls, navigation, & guidance systems; gas turbine engine components; electrical power systems; mechanical systems; vehicle health & data management systems; mission systems; computing systems; and platform systems integration. Responsibilities may include design, analysis, development, and testing, writing software requirements, software testing, simulation, tool development and product/program support.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Due to the nature of our projects, US Citizenship is required.
Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA off a 4.0 scale without rounding.
Attending a full time matriculated and nationally accredited baccalaureate or graduate program in engineering (degrees accepted: Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering).
Willingness and ability to work in the United States; primary locations are: Grand Rapids, MI; and Clearwater, FL.
Reliable transportation, many of our sites do not have public transportation available.
