General Linen Service company history timeline
General Linen Service was founded by Lucien Drolet in 1938, and is still owned and operated by the Drolet family.
Joseph Blau died in 1957.
He ran the company throughout the Depression and the war years – even as he went overseas to serve his adopted country – until his death in 1974.
They absorbed other smaller companies until selling up in 1977.
In 1997, they built a new facility and headquarters in Somersworth, a move that consolidated the linen processing and made them more competitive.
In 2009, the company purchased Lakes Region Linen, merging the two independent, third generation businesses.
