Maintenance technician job at General Mills
The Maintenance Lead promotes a safety culture and demonstrates servant-based leadership to achieve breakthrough production results on their line/system. The Maintenance Lead works to eliminate top losses on a 24-hour, multiple shift cycle through a rigorous Daily Direction Setting system, specifically through ownership of defect handling (DH), breakdown elimination (BE) and planning & scheduling (MP&S). This position leverages the process discipline of continuous improvement tools. The Maintenance Lead supports building technical capability for the assigned maintenance and operating teams, particularly equipment/component level expertise.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Equipment/Component level owner for the line/system
* Leads portions of the daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly Daily Direction Setting meetings, including: Daily reporting and prioritization of defects found/fixed
* Daily reporting of breakdowns
* Execution of the plan for the day
* Weekly Breakdown Elimination overview and development of Line Team through sharing learnings
* Weekly tracking and reporting of maintenance measurement data - Backlog, PM Completion, etc. (Indicators of the planning and scheduling system health)
* Owns the following for the assigned line/system: Identifies and address safety risks related to maintenance activities (standard and non-standard) and prioritizes safety risks identified through DH
* Maximo data integrity and adherence to Maximo standards
* Health of DH system: Leads documentation of standards and coaches the Line Team, operators and maintenance team through the identification, prioritization and resolution of defects
* Breakdown Elimination: Identification of triggers, tracking of BE's through dice chart, ensuring completion of BE's and implementation of countermeasures
* Planning & Scheduling: Plans, schedules and assigns all work (corrective and preventative maintenance) for the line. Prioritizes work as it relates to addressing top stops/losses, including shutdown planning
* Deliver parts, service and labor costs
* PM Systems for the line/system
* Supports development and leads execution of 90-Day improvement plan to deliver glidepath through loss elimination
* Build capability of the Line Team, operators and mechanics to understand their equipment at component level in addition to identifying and resolving defects
* The Maintenance Lead will directly manage the maintenance team on the system they own, these additional accountabilities apply:
* Manage the shift/daily staffing
* Directing work of mechanics
* Shift Hand-offs

* Own accuracy and timeliness of performance metrics for shift

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* High school diploma/GED
* 2+ years of related experience
* Demonstrated skills in servant leadership, problem solving, coaching and training
* Ability to work 1st shift and short-term coverage for Process Leads and Lines Leads, if needed
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's degree (Engineering degree preferred)
* Technical mastery of equipment and develops it in others
* Understanding of mechanical processes, both hands on and theory
* Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems
* Understanding of maintenance and reliability performance metrics

The salary range for this position is $70100.00 - $105200.00 / Annually. **1st Week - Monday, Tuesday, Friday Saturday - 48 hours**

Your standard two week pay would be 76 hours straight time, 8 hours overtime.

Receive training, maintain, and learn on highly automated equipment from Sweden, called Tetra Pak. You will be working directly on cappers, seamers, fillers, homogenizers, etc.

This position has the responsibility to comply with safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce safety as a core value. **Responsibilities**

**Position Summary**
The Nestlé Purina Maintenance Department is building a team of technicians with a variety of skillsets including but not limited to industrial mechanical and electrical troubleshooting (motors, conveyors, bearings, gears, sprockets, valves, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, automation systems, etc.). As a MaintenanceTechnician, you will maintain, troubleshoot, repair and optimize production equipment. Day to day, you will work with production, engineering and maintenance personnel to conduct planned and predictive maintenance and solve problems and implement solutions quickly and safely to keep factory assets operating efficiently.
This position will initially work Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. **Once the Williamsburg Township plant reaches operation, the shift will switch to nights (6 p.m.-6 a.m.), operating on a 2-2-3 schedule format** (week one: two days on, two days off, three days on; week two: two days off, two days on, three days off).
The starting pay for this position is $36.23/hr. with a strategic Maintenance Progression Plan that provides for increasing wages up to $40.37/hr., based on knowledge/skill demonstration, technical assessments and performance reviews. **RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Collaborate with team members to maintain equipment and solve technical problems
+ Model safety and share mechanical and electrical expertise to train other team members and champion a safety-first work environment
+ Execute Planned Maintenance (PM) activities to proactively prevent failures and promote safe and efficient operations
+ Work to reduce unplanned stoppages through effective root cause analysis
+ Provide on-shift mechanical and electrical troubleshooting to identify and repair technical breakdowns
+ Utilize mechanical and electrical tools, diagnostic instruments (meters), mechanical diagrams and schematics, computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other digital tools to work safely and efficiently
+ Perform basic rigging, mechanical practices and welding skills in an industrial environment
+ Utilize SAP system to properly log maintenance-related information including work time, parts issuing, failure logs and work order notes
**REQUIREMENTS**
+ High school diploma or GED equivalent
+ 2+ years of experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of complex mechanical equipment in a manufacturing, industrial, warehouse, military or related environment
**OTHER**
+ Once the factory starts up, you must be willing to work 6:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m. on a 2-2-3 schedule.

We're hiring MaintenanceTechnicians at our manufacturing facility in Zanesville, OH. The starting pay ranges **from $30.28 to $39.60** with a **Maintenance Progression Plan** that provides increasing wages based on knowledge/skill demonstration and performance reviews. **Responsibilities**
+ Maintenance of plant systems: mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and instrumentation.
+ Install and program Variable Frequency Drives.
+ Install control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.
+ Install, troubleshoot, and maintain switch gears, control wiring and components, overcurrent and overload protection for plant motors including three phase systems.
+ Troubleshoot electrical controls systems including motors and PLCs.
+ Use test equipment such as multimeters, megohmmeters, and process simulators.
+ Repair gear reducers, belt and screw conveyors, chain elevators, and packaging equipment.
+ Maintain wastewater system, boiler operations, cooling towers, and general building needs.
+ Utilize thermal imaging and ultrasonic analysis.
**Requirements**
+ High School diploma or GED.
+ 1+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, technical, warehouse, industrial, military, or related environment OR a two-year technical degree completed.
**Other**
+ Experience working with 480 industrial voltages preferred.
+ Must be willing to work nights and weekends.
