Role Summary Internship Term: Rivian internships are experiences optimized for student candidates. To be eligible, you must be an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited program during the internship term with an expected graduation date between Dec 2026 and 2028. As a Material Flow Engineering Intern, you will support the optimization and development of material flow strategies within manufacturing or distribution environments. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, production, logistics, and warehouse operations to ensure materials are delivered efficiently and accurately to the right place at the right time. Responsibilities Assist in analyzing and designing efficient material flow processes for production lines and warehouses. Support layout design and improvements for material handling systems, workstations, and storage areas. Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and logistics planners to optimize inventory locations and reduce non-value-added movement. Use data analysis tools to track, measure, and improve material flow performance. Qualifications Must be currently pursuing a bachelors, masters degree at an accredited university in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and material handling principles is a plus. Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint); experience with AutoCAD, Tableau, or simulation software preferred. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment. Pay Disclosure Salary Range/Hourly Rate for Internships: The range of pay for internships is 25.00-51.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on location, and other factors permitted by law. Rivian provides robust wellness benefits, and a medical insurance package for interns, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
