    _Hybrid: Position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time but the expectation is that the employee be onsite a minimum of three (3) days (Tues., Wed., Thurs.) a week to the Warren or MPG offices of General Motors._ We are seeking a highly-motivated agile technical leader for the **_ART (Agile Release Train) Manager_** role for the Secure Vehicle Access Product. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the **_Secure Vehicle Access ART_** is delivering the right things at the right time to customers and stakeholders. This role was previously known as _ART PM (Product Manager)_ and is part of the Vehicle Mechatronic Embedded Controls (VMEC) engineering department at General Motors. **_What you will do_** **Demonstrate Leadership** + Demonstrate thorough technical understanding of the Secure Vehicle Access domain (requirements, in-house controls/software work, deployment activities & landscape, etc.) so you can lead the ART (agile release train): + Look Ahead: anticipate issues, "see around corners," and plan ahead + You are the ART's glue: act as a dot connector, bridge builder and translator + Focused leadership: channel diverse viewpoints so the ART can work as a team towards common goals + Convey background, context and "WHY" + Note: the successful candidate is not expected to own specific technical strategy/solutions + Lead, support and/or actively engage in all product-related ceremonies & forums, such as: Program Increment Planning, Iteration Retrospectives, ART Inspect and Adapt Workshops, Pre-PI Planning, Post PI Planning, Backlog Refinement, ART Synchronizations, Communities of Practice, Product Syncs, Product/Program team forums, etc. + Lead, support and/or actively engage in product-related activities & initiatives, such as: capacity allocation, planning studies related to new/unplanned work, swimlane strategies, new initiatives, BDD/TDD, TFRP, BTS, etc. + Demonstrate drive for relentless improvement (e.g.: boldly providing feedback, identify and action improvements to product/process, etc.) **Own the ART (Agile Release Train) Roadmap and Vision** + Develop, maintain and effectively communicate the ART Roadmap, Product & Solution Vision, including rationale behind prioritization of work + Proactively collaborate with Product Team, internal/external customers and stakeholders to understand priorities, dependencies, deliverable and timing needs + Create and effectively communicate Program Increment Objectives + Support & maintain a comprehensive CoSim plan for the ART **Own the ART (Agile Release Train) Backlog** + Ensure alignment with product strategy and vision + Review, prioritize and manage work requests coming into the ART and document in the ART backlog + Lead ART backlog refinement activities to ensure the highest priority/highest value work items are ready for PI Planning; examples of work items include new features, enablers, technical debt, unplanned interrupts, etc. + Responsible for backlog health and readiness - quantity, quality & completeness of features, well-defined documented acceptance & done criteria + Identify and work through dependencies with other ARTs when deliverables are dependent on other teams for completion/delivery **Ensure Product Completeness** + Verify work has been completed with high quality as per definition of done criteria + Support ART leads (Architects, PO, etc.) to ensure ART features are accepted & released on time + Identify content not on track to plan - investigate, troubleshoot, resolve and/or escalate as appropriate + Partner with ART Lead (formerly known as Release Train Engineer (RTE)) in tracking and assessing metrics, including evaluation of business value achieved versus planned + Champion Read Across, PRD, Safety Tethers, etc. + Lead and/or participate in all product-related forums (e.g.: demos, workshops, ART ceremonies, etc.) to assess product readiness **_Required Skills and Experience_** + Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics, Software, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience + **7+ years of embedded software (C, C++) development experience** + **Cyber Security Experience (intrusion detection, threat vectors)** + **Experience with Product Planning and full lifecycle product development** + Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a geographically dispersed team + Excellent time management, oral and written communication skills + Experience with automotive software standards, test methods/procedures and build processes ( **test-driven development and behavior-driven development (TDD and BDD** )) + Experience working in an agile environment, preferably SAFe + Experience with software configuration management processes and tools (e.g.: GIT Ecosystem, Jira) + Development or testing experience on SIL/HIL or other virtual environments + Knowledge of controls theory and the software development process \#LI-SW1 **Why Join Us** At GM, you'll be at the forefront of shaping the **future of connected, electric, and autonomous vehicles** . Safely, professionally, and efficiently, complete facility maintenance, preventive maintenance and new installations per line-up and documentation. Gather and maintain a complete set of required tools, including electrical meters and other diagnostic devices. Participate in preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve operational uptime and equipment life. Recommend improvements and/or changes to PM systems/tasks when applicable. 5. Follow designated work instructions as outlined for specific functions. These include, but are not limited to; PM work orders, continuous improvement tasks, new installation line-ups and repair/refurbish assignments. 6. Update drawings/prints suggest spare parts and suitable replacements and perform various forms of repair/rebuild/installation in a professional manner per line-up and schematics. 7. Follow standard practices and all governmental regulations and laws relating to powered equipment. 8. Perform other related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and management.     Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Hardware Design Engineer to join our team, focused on developing best-in-class automotive Digital Key systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in system architecture, schematic design, and multi-layer PCB layout, particularly for systems involving BLE and UWB technology. The Role: The Hardware Design Engineer will be responsible for the schematic design, PCB layout, function/performance validation, and issue resolution, of hardware components and systems that support Digital Key technologies across all GM vehicles and architectures. This role is tightly coupled to cross-functional teams, including vehicle integration, product managers, and system engineers, to create secure and reliable Digital Key solutions and assist in defining future technology roadmaps and resolution of issues that arise throughout development and production. What You'll Do: * Create and manage schematics, PCB layouts, and BOMs to ensure reliable and high-performance hardware designs. * Design and develop complex multi-layer PCB layouts for high-density designs, with a focus on signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal management. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define design specifications and ensure they align with system requirements. * Perform signal and power integrity analysis, including grounding, trace routing, and impedance control. * Work closely with external manufacturers and suppliers to ensure that designs are optimized for fabrication, assembly, and cost-efficiency. * Develop test strategies and validation methods to ensure design reliability and performance of hardware designs. * Manage design revisions and perform continuous improvements on existing designs. * Provide technical support during prototype builds and assist in troubleshooting design-related issues. * Ensure compliance with industry standards, including safety and regulatory requirements. * Support and provide direction to suppliers throughout the development process. * Report to senior leaders on project status, roadblocks, and escalation requests. Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications): * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. * 5+ years of experience in hardware design and testing, preferably in automotive or consumer electronics. * Proven expertise in BLE, UWB, NFC, and other short-range wireless technologies. * Experience working with CCC/Apple Car Keys/MFi/NFC Forum requirements. * Strong proficiency in PCB design including schematics capture and layout using industry-standard tools such as Mentor Graphics, Altium, Eagle, or KiCad. * Hands-on experience with hardware debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, etc.). * Solid Knowledge of embedded systems and processor architectures (ARM-based systems, etc.) and low-power design techniques. * Familiarity with wireless connectivity protocols (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, BLE, NFC, UWB) and best practice for coexistence and de-sense mitigation. * Familiarity with automotive-grade components, environmental constraints, and compliance to applicable regulations. * Experience with DFMEA, PFMEA, and other reliability engineering practices. * Knowledge of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet. * Ability to interpret and apply EMC/EMI design principles and regulatory requirements (FCC, CE, etc.). * Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work through complex hardware and system issues. * Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines. What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications): * Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. * Knowledge and experience in wireless interfaces and technology. * Experience with secure hardware design, including TPMs, secure elements, and cryptographic accelerators. * Familiarity with automotive cybersecurity standards (e.g., ISO/SAE 21434). * Experience with design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for testability (DFT) in high-volume production environments. * Exposure to vehicle integration and validation processes, including working with HIL systems and vehicle test benches. * Knowledge of OTA update mechanisms and hardware support for secure provisioning. * Experience working with global suppliers and managing hardware development across multiple geographies. * Understanding of digital key ecosystems, including mobile device interoperability, credential provisioning, and secure communication protocols. Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington. The expected base compensation for this role is: $103,000 - $157,900. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
