Essential Duties of a Registered Nurse: The primary purpose of this position is to assist providers with the proper administration of patient care. Serves as a liaison between providers and patients by assessing patient needs and communicating health information. Perform telephone triage of patients by accurately assessing symptoms based on subjective and objective findings. Follow service line initiatives to avoid unnecessary hospital re-admissions by communicating with appropriate parties to ensure proper follow-up within specified time frames. Assist with medication management by performing medication reconciliation and queueing necessary refills to providers for processing. Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures, in accordance with internal and legal regulations. Complete prior authorizations for medication and diagnostic services. Monitor incoming documents and assist with the completion of necessary forms. Assist with examination and in-office treatment by handing providers instruments and materials. Enter orders into the EMR system following the organization's standing order policy and/or per providers' written direction. Deliver exemplary customer service to provide a positive patient experience across the organization. Perform other duties assigned by management.
